On Saturday, June 28, attendees all wore pink for the 17th edition of the annual pride rally, Pink Dot. Taking place at Hong Lim Park once again, thousands came together to share hopes towards a more inclusive future. This year's event wrapped up Pride Month with the theme of "Different Stories, Same Love", where people showed up to celebrate love in all its forms.

Zerakiel-David-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Zerakiel David

Age: 24

Occupation: Vet Tech/Research Associate

His fit:
“Top to toe, my clowncore outfit features a pinwheel and corset from Vintage Wknd. My hair was styled by Impulse Collective on Instagram, and I did my own makeup. I handmade the glitter ruffle collar, cuffs, 90 per cent of the bracelets, rainbow necklaces and jester collar. The chain necklace is by a local indie label, and the rest was thrifted or bought online. I also did my own gel nails — seven hours in total!”

The inspiration behind his outfit:
“My look is ‘clowncore’, which overlaps with J-fashion styles like decora-kei that I love. I packed in as many colourful, whimsical elements as I could. Inspiration comes from everywhere — my commute, or even a flower growing through pavement cracks. For detailed looks like this, I plan months ahead with mood boards and sketches so I can handmake most accessories, and support indie creators for the rest. I also follow clowncore creators online.

For makeup, I always try a new look for Pink Dot. This year’s rainbow eyeshadow and brows match my hair and represent the Pride flag. The single blue tear on my right eye is for a dear friend we lost last year. I live openly as my transgender and bisexual self in celebration of her. We both loved frogs — the frog earring, made by a local artist, is for her too.”

His style:
“My style changes depending on how I feel. I mix goth, scene, jirai-kei, gyaru and lolita, but clowncore and decora are what I relate to most. I wear them out proudly, even with the stares. At work in the lab or clinic, I have to dress safely, but my personality still shows through my hair and nails. I can slay and care for my animals at the same time!”

Anne-Wright-Zhang-Ying-Drew-Pictures-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Anne Wright Zhang Ying aka Drew Pictures

Age: 26

Occupation: Research engineer

Their fit:
“It’s inspired by the colours of the trans flag! I love making little capes with my drag looks and including flowy fabrics. It’s nice for movement and also feels very magical (I always use fabrics with woven glitter as well). Most of it is either thrifted and modified or made by me!”

The inspiration behind their outfit:
“Butterflies and the trans flag! I think there’s a lot of symbolism to be had with butterflies and finding one’s trans identity. You grow into yourself when you come up, and there’s joy in building yourself in that way.”

Their personal style:
“Very colourful. I love big earrings and bright eyeliners. Colour is so important to me. People joke that I look like I’d belong on The Wiggles.”

Shahrazad-Binti-Logan-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Shahrazad Binti Logan

Age: 25

Occupation: Animator

His fit:
“Almost every piece is by an indie artist! The strawberry shirt is by @angelazydoodles, clown collar by @sonialazo and skirt by @meyoco. I love buying apparel from indie artists, whether online or at art markets, because I have a rule: if it’s basic, I don’t want it. I’m an artist too, and I think it’s so important to lift each other up and support where we can. The petticoat was bought second-hand for cheap, and the rainbow suspenders are borrowed from my mum. My bracelets were made during a craft day with friends, and I woke up early to make sure I had time to do all my makeup!”

The inspiration behind his outfit:
“Every Pink Dot, I challenge myself to never repeat an outfit and to one-up myself each year. That doesn’t mean buying new stuff — I’ve never had to get anything specifically for Pink Dot because my wardrobe’s naturally become a colourful, rainbow mess. I usually go for something predominantly pink, but rainbows and other pride flag colours are a must. For example, my Sonia Lazo clown collar matches the pansexual pride colours, the suspenders are rainbow, and I incorporated the trans flag colours — baby pink, blue and white — into my makeup. I also wanted to lean even more into clowncore this year, so the fluffy petticoat, DIY bracelets and chunky pink rubber shoes were key. Oh, and I wore a matching strawberry skirt with my partner because we’re gross like that.”

His personal style:
“My style’s evolved quite a bit. When I was a kid, I had a pink-hating phase. Then came the black and halter top era, because it felt cool — but now, my wardrobe’s full of pastel pinks, blues and loud prints. People say I look like a children’s art teacher, and I’m always the most colourful person in the office. I love cute illustrated button-ups and big skirts. To me, there’s no such thing as too much or too loud. Sometimes I get stared at or stereotyped, but I’ve got other things to care about — like slaying.”

Bella-Pink-Dot-FPC.

Clement Goh

Name: Bella

Age: 18

Occupation: Student

Her fit:
“The red gown is from Lucky Plaza and cost around $70 to $80. The pink corset was a gift from a friend and is from Re.drmg at Haji Lane. All my jewellery is from Market Gaia Guni in Woodlands (letting the cat out of the bag here), the wig is by @scylla_hyde on Instagram, and the heels were also a gift.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
“It’s mainly inspired by an archival Vivienne Westwood piece from the Spring/Summer 1994 Cafe Society show. I just love maximalism and layering, so I threw a corset on top because I thought it looked pretty.”

Her personal style:
“When I get the chance to dress up, I’d say I’m very maximalist, though I lean slightly Y2K or Victorian southern gothic. Either way, I tend to layer a lot of fabrics and jewellery.”

Her current fashion obsession:
“I don’t care what anyone says, but skirts over pants are superior — they’re so flexible and almost always look good.”

Anika-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Anika

Age: 18

Occupation: Student

Her fit:
“My outfit is about 80 per cent thrifted. My top is a lilac polka-dot shirt with lace and ruffles that I love. My skirts are layered — a tiered black lace skirt I thrifted in the Philippines, with a plain black skirt on top. I’ve layered several necklaces, but the purple droplet one is the star of the outfit. I also wore pink shoelaces to match today’s occasion.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
“Today’s look was inspired by Pink Dot itself. I don’t wear much pink, but lilac is close enough! I chose a boxy silhouette for the sleeveless top, so the rest of the outfit has a 1920s vibe. I added lace cuffs to tie it all together — it’s my own twist on a vintage style.”

Her personal style:
“I’m inspired by Western vintage silhouettes, gothic elements, and the whimsical Harajuku fashion scene. My wardrobe is mostly black fabrics, frills, and lace. I dress for the vibe of the day, from playful with shorter skirts and ribbons to elegant with flowy skirts and button-ups. Whatever the look, I love accessorising with beaded jewellery and stacked bracelets.”

Lameer-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Lameer

Age: 28

Occupation: Model/Content Creator/Writer/Art Film Creative

His fit:
“My top is a floral lace kebaya shirt thrifted from 2nd Street Singapore, paired with upcycled reworked pants from Vintage Wknd. The butterfly necklace is from Re.drmg, the silver chain and pearl necklace was a birthday gift from a friend (Renee Ng), and the orchid flower clip is from Del’cs (@delicsretail).”

The inspiration behind his outfit:
“The orchid clip in my hair is the starting point. Flowers have a feminine quality, so I wanted to challenge and balance ideas of femininity and masculinity — how society perceives a man with a flower in his hair. The orchid also nods to Singapore’s national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim, which felt fitting for Pink Dot, a protest picnic organised by Singaporeans for Singapore’s future.

The floral lace top complements the orchid, with its almost see-through mesh fabric adding a spicy touch while playing with the controversial idea of modesty. The ‘sandwich method’ from TikTok helped me choose the upcycled pants — purples and beige with floral patterns matched the vibe perfectly.”

His personal style:
“I like to accentuate my upper body, so a typical day out means a tight tank top and loose jeans — breathable and adaptable. I often carry a cardigan to ‘code switch’ into more conservative spaces. Call me a chameleon! For shoes, I’m not fussy — comfortable New Balances that go with everything are my go-to."

Nicole-Chin-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Nicole Chin

Age: 30

Occupation: Social media strategist

Her fit:
“I was going for a cowboy Chappell Roan-inspired look today that’s still comfortable! Everything I’m wearing, including shoes and accessories, is either secondhand, a hand-me-down or thrifted. The only exception is my hat, which is a souvenir from Phuket.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
“Chappell Roan but make it comfy!”

Her personal style:
“I’d say my style is quite eclectic. I love mixing different secondhand pieces with a variety of colours, textures and prints.”

Her current fashion obsession:
“I’ve been obsessed with jorts lately! They’re so comfy and perfect for Singapore’s hot weather.”

Kim-Zhi-Qi-Jenella-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Kim Zhi Qi Jenella

Age: 15

Occupation: Student

“I wore a cropped hot pink jacket with a bit of my bra showing, a mini denim skirt, and layered a studded belt with a shiny pink one. I paired it with heart-shaped fishnets, fur leg warmers, and red Converse.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
“This year, I wanted a really bold 2000s-inspired look, with alternative touches especially in my hair and belt choices.”

Her personal style:
“I’m a big fan of anything from the 2000s, especially things like scene, emo, McBling, and a few others from that era.”

Arin-Ilhan-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Arin Ilhan

Age: 22

Occupation: Retail associate

Their fit:
“My top is thrifted, my cargos are a hand-me-down from my brothers, my boots I got from Carousell for $30, and all my accessories were gifts from loved ones.”

The inspiration behind their outfit:
“I have three older dinosaur-loving brothers, and growing up, I always wished I could dress like them. But I had to fulfil my mother’s only-daughter expectations, so I never really got to. Now as an adult, I wear whatever I want—it’s a little tribute to the boy I could have been.”

Their personal style:
“The pieces have to feel special and a little silly. I always pick outfits I’d be comfortable wearing to survive an apocalypse.”

Kylie-Ramirez-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Kylie Ramirez

Age: 22

Occupation: Graduating Nursing student at NUS

Her fit:
“For my top, I’m wearing a blue floral blouse I thrifted from Lucky Plaza, from a really sweet auntie on level six. Please support her if you can! Over that, I layered a pink floral corset given to me by a friend—it actually belonged to her mum back in her baddie days, which I love. For my skirt, I layered two pieces: a floral skirt I thrifted from one of the booths at Resurrack, and a purple skirt I found at Golden Landmark. My accessories are a mix of thrifted finds, online pieces, and bracelets from Bali. My boots are from Charles & Keith.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
“I was originally putting together an outfit and makeup inspired by the bisexual flag. But as I went along, I layered my skirts and clipped on some blue butterfly hair clips I had lying around—and somehow ended up looking like a fairy.”

Her personal style:
“I love dressing up whenever I go out. My style really depends on the day: some days I’m an office siren, other days I look like a Winx Club character. I’m obsessed with layering clothes and accessories. I just let my creativity flow and it brings the whole look to life. Dressing up is therapeutic for me, especially after a stressful week at school or an internship. It’s my way of recharging.”

Nicolle-Min-Pink-Dot-FPC.

Clement Goh

Name: Nicolle Min

Age: 25

Occupation: Lawyer

Her fit:
“I’m wearing a lilac modern qipao top that’s reversible (it can be black too), a grey mini skirt, and plain knee-high boots. My silver accessories are thrifted, along with a fan I got from Haji Lane.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
“Something cute and functional, to spend the evening and show up for love and belonging at Pink Dot.”

Her personal style:
“I like mixing patterns and textures from well-made pieces. While I love layering and am more of a maximalist, in Singapore I tend to choose individual garments that speak for themselves so I can comfortably spend the day out in the tropical heat.”

Her current fashion obsession:
“Scrollwork motifs and embroidery.”

Alecxander-Carmelo-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Alecxander Carmelo

Age: 18

Occupation: Student at Ngee Ann Polytechnic

His fit:
“For the hat and bandana train, I took direct inspiration from someone’s actual concert fit. The bandana train is sewn together using a collection of smaller bandanas to form a two-metre-long train. The blazer is from my father’s closet, the corset was found online, and the pants are thrifted.”

The inspiration behind his outfit:
“Beyonce is currently on her Cowboy Carter Tour, and since I’m too broke and busy to attend, I thought, why not bring the tour to Pink Dot? I wanted to give off Western glam with a bit of punk edge and urban streetwear realness. The rest of the outfit is what I do best: a little risque, a little rebellion, and very much me.”

His personal style:
“My personal style is quite minimalistic. I focus on tasteful practicality, wanting outfits that are comfortable and suited for whatever I’m doing, but still coordinated and not thrown together last minute. It involves statement outerwear (I love a good jacket) with different textures, prints, and silhouettes. When I do get the chance to dress up, I go all out. I love being bold and taking risks that may not always pay off, but it gets people talking — and that’s what I love.”

Yvie-Pink-Dot-FPC.

Clement Goh

Name: Yvie

Age: 21

Occupation: Student

Her fit:
“I’m wearing three tops layered over each other — on the outside, a patchwork baby doll dress; underneath, a lace cami that I thrifted; and closest to my skin, a sheer bolero with a Peter Pan collar that’s actually meant to be an outer piece. My bottoms are a star-patterned lace skirt from a Chinese brand called No Official Romance. I’m also wearing a lace handkerchief in my hair, pink Melissa heels, and some pink bows to tie it all together.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
“Pink Dot’s all about being loud and proud, so I wanted to wear something emphatically and unabashedly me. I went for a fit that shows off the (hyper)feminine side of myself, inspired by fairycore and balletcore aesthetics. There’s lots of lace, ribbon, and, of course, pink!”

Her personal style:
“My style is honestly ‘anything that makes me feel confident and happy in my own skin,’ but I gravitate towards girly fashion and anything with bows and cute miniskirts.”

Her current fashion obsession:
“Right now, I’m really into all things burgundy — pairing a burgundy Mary Jane with a cherry-coloured leather bag, and maybe a dark red lip, since a touch of red can inject personality and sophistication into any outfit.”

Rain-Yong-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Rain Yong

Age: 23

Occupation: Self-employed

Their fit:
“I’m layering two tops — a pink one from TikTok Shop and a jellyfish-style one from Taobao. My skirt and boots are also from Taobao, as water boots are always a must at Pink Dot since you never know when it might rain!”

The inspiration behind their outfit:
“I wanted to look like a princess, with lots of flowy pieces. The jellyfish top felt a little plain, so I bought the second pink top and added ribbons to it.”

Their personal style:
“My style usually mixes tight and flowy elements. I don’t like my legs to feel trapped, so I tend to favour skirts and shorts over pants.”

Ow-Zoe-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Ow Zoe

Age: 25

Occupation: Self-employed

Her fit:
“My fit consisted of a pink sleeveless top from Taobao with a cool graphic. The black shorts are from a brand called Cherub, featuring multiple pockets and slots where I could attach accessories like my pink carabiner. I also wore black rain boots from Taobao in case the ground was muddy again like last year.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
“I just wanted to wear something pink for the occasion that wouldn’t make me sweat too much.”

Her personal style:
“Streetwear kept simple. Maybe a bit of grunge too.”

Ka-Yan-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Ka Yan

Age: 23

Occupation: Student

Her fit:
“My dress is from Taobao, boots from Hunter, the apple hair clips and rings were made by me under my brand Toasty Towns, and my bag is from Cos.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
“I wanted to go for a very pink and red colour scheme for Pink Dot!”

Her personal style:
“Cutesy, colourful, comfortable! I’m inspired by a lot of J-fashion.”

Her current fashion obsession:
“I really like whimsical and silly accessories, usually from small businesses like @stonelen_your_heart on Instagram — they’re one of my favourites at the moment!”

Koh-Yi-Jing-Carissa-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Koh Yi Jing Carissa

Age: 17

Occupation: Student

Her fit:
“My top is an old thrift flip, the bottoms are Gucci shorts, and the belts are thrifted. The leg warmers and tights are from Taobao, and I’m wearing Timberland heels with a Jungle Storm jacket from Fairies Aisle. All my jewellery is randomly thrifted.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
“I was inspired by grunge and scene fashion, but mostly, I just wanted something that looks and feels good — it makes me happy wearing it.”

Her personal style:
“It’s not fixed, but if I had to describe it, I’d call it trash raccoon… because everything I wear comes from the most random places.”

Abdillah-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Muhammad Abdillah Bin Mohamed Azmaniz

Age: 18

Occupation: Student

His fit:
“My top and bottom are both from Hades Studios — the top’s actually a one-piece, so no real layering. I wore a Vivienne Westwood pearl choker, with rings and bracelets from Bugis Street. The platforms are from Dolls Kill, and the Vivienne Westwood handbag held all my essentials.”

The inspiration behind his outfit:
“I wanted to channel that early 2000s hip-hop vibe, inspired by the artists from that era who are close to my heart.”

His personal style:
“I believe fashion has no constraints — my wardrobe has pieces labelled for both men and women. What you wear should reflect who you are, your passions and personality. My style is rooted in the ethos of hip-hop: be fearless in expressing yourself, whether through fashion, music, or anything else.”

Changu-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Marie Chang aka Changu

Age: 28

Occupation: Tattoo artist

The fit:
“I looked over at my Pride flag and had a lightbulb moment — ‘I’m going to wear the flag.’ I pinned parts together, used ribbon to tie the back, and turned it into a rainbow halter top with a tail. I loved it.”

The inspiration behind their outfit:
“I was inspired by my friend Glenda (@__justglenda), who manipulates fabric and layers clothes so beautifully. I wanted to do the same — turn something simple into a whole new look.”

Their personal style:
“I love tight-fitting tops and wearing lots of metal and chains. I haven’t bought new clothes in years — everything’s either thrifted or DIY-ed. My style’s become more sustainable, but still keeps that edgy, grunge feel.”

Bettina-Sim-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Bettina Sim

Age: 28

Occupation: Art teacher

Her fit:
“I’m wearing a sparkly pink babydoll dress that reminds me of iridescent fairy wings. My platforms are from YRU’s Care Bears collab — full of rainbow colours with pink as the base, perfect for Pink Dot. I paired them with ribbon socks to add a touch of rococo to the chunky shoes. That contrast — soft and edgy — is how I usually dress.”

The inspiration behind her outfit:
"The dress reminded me of Glinda from the Wicked movie because it's pink and sparkly — but more like, if I were Glinda, this is what I’d wear on a casual day. Imagine Glinda, but with a history of experimenting with Harajuku fashion and going through an emo phase."

Her personal style:
“It’s evolved with me over the years. I started off full-on Harajuku and hyper feminine. Now I go for colours and silhouettes that feel more like me, but I’ve kept the edge. So I’d say: feminine with attitude. Think walking Bratz doll — chunky shoes, tiny top, dramatic bottoms, and a bit cartoonish. But unapologetically so.”

Xander-Xu-Pink-Dot-FPC.

Clement Goh

Name: Xander Xu

Age: 22

Occupation: Student

His fit: “I’m wearing a black sheer lace corset with floral print over a pearl-detailed bra... My trousers are glossy black satin with lace panels, because blending in isn’t an option. Accessories include a pearl choker with a black flower, pink-tinted sunnies, and a furry belt for texture. My hair’s slicked back, and my make-up features flushed cheeks, bold red lips, and lashes that flirt before I speak.”

The inspiration behind his outfit: “I was channelling an Aespa-style vibe—cool, edgy and a little wild. Mixing soft and hard textures like lace with pearls, or a strong corset with something plush. Mostly dark tones with a pop of brightness. It’s like armour, but make it fashion—perfect for a Pink Dot, futuristic fantasy.”

His personal style: “I like experimenting to show different sides of myself. Some days it’s Y2K brat, other days cyberpunk—but always bold, dramatic and eye-catching. Fashion’s my language, and I use it to express how I feel, loudly.”

Sarah-Sorfina-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Sarah Sorfina

Age: 20

Occupation: Student

Her fit: “My whole outfit is from Shein. It was my first time at Pink Dot, and since I love dressing up, I wanted to go all out and look aesthetic.”

The inspiration behind her outfit: “I was going for a princess vibe—something Barbie would totally wear. She’s my fashion icon.”

Her personal style: “Think romantic vampire meets femme fatale. But on lazy days, it’s just one of the same three sweaters.”

Spike-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Chuang Wei Chung (Spike)

Age: 33

Occupation: Business

His fit: “I’m wearing a pink denim jacket with matching wide-leg jeans, a simple white tee, white sneakers, and a pink cap with layered silver chains. I went with a pink-on-pink look to match Pink Dot’s dress code, but kept it comfy and fun.”

The inspiration behind his outfit: “Definitely Pink Dot! I wanted to show up for the community in a full-pink fit that feels joyful, soft, and confident.”

His personal style: “I’d say my style is colourful, playful, and expressive. I love using colour to catch people’s eyes and maybe even brighten someone’s day. To me, fashion is a way of spreading joy.”

Joshua-Rufus-Pink-Dot-FPC

Clement Goh

Name: Joshua Rufus

Age: 21

Occupation: Singer-songwriter, Producer

His fit: “My fur-sleeved short top is from Incerun, and my pants are from Temu. The belt, chain and rings are from Taobao, lapel pins from Shopee, necklace from Trendhim, and bracelets from Chomel. My shoes are from Taobao, and of course, the Pink Dot keychain is from the Pink Dot website.”

The inspiration behind his outfit: “I usually wear dark, plain clothes, so I wanted to stand out—especially since I’ve never worn pink before. A white shirt felt too plain, so I went for a short fur-sleeved white top and tried low-heel shoes for the first time. Combined with the accessories, I’d say this is probably my best fit yet.”

His personal style: “I usually stick to monochrome outfits—black, blue, white or grey—with no accessories.”
