You’ve got to be nourished to flourish. Together with Fendi, FEMALE serves up the Italian luxury label’s latest signature bags that enrich one’s day-to-day life with their sophistication, functionality and playful little twists that lend plenty of flavour.
One can say that the Peekaboo has good vibes built into it. Launched 15 years ago, this roomy hand-held bag has been deftly crafted so that its mouth slouches when unclasped, creating the appearance of a smile that reveals a hint of its plush interior. In 2020, the label updated it with an accordion frame structure that creates an even deeper “smile” and named it the Peekaboo ISeeU. Fast forward to this year and the latter gets a tactile facelift dubbed the Peekaboo ISeeU Interlace: Its exterior sports a tone-on-tone braided finish handwoven by artisans in Tuscany. How’s that for a feast for the senses?

A bag worth its salt especially for those who are always on-the-go. Launched in Fall Winter 2023, this elegant satchel transitions easily from day to night with its feminine curves, vintage-y gold-toned FF hardware and adjustable strap (the nano version can even be worn as a belt bag, thanks to a loop on its back). What’s gone into its construction is even more impressive: Despite its pared-back silhouette, every bag is made up of 20 different pieces of leather meticulously put together by Fendi’s artisans. And as a nod to the punk attitude of the season’s runway collection, the metal rings securing the strap are in fact barbell hoops – flip the bag open and you’ll see the round studs on their ends from the inside.

The Baguette – Fendi’s super-hot pochette – gets even more delectable, upsized and trimmed with hand-done, tone-on-tone stitching that is inspired by an archival style and adds some rustic charm to this ’90s-born number. Remove the short detachable handle and it becomes a cool and handy clutch that works for evenings as much as it does on errand runs.

Inspired by the Japanese art of paper-folding, this modern-looking newcomer is made up of 38 different parts and “serves” two ways: as a cuboid bucket bag when the eight magnets along its opening are pressed together to form an X-shape (as pictured), or as a spacious trapezoidal shopper (simply pull the small leather straps on the sides to transform it). The sizes to choose from: large, medium or mini. The finishes: forever neutrals such as black, white and taupe; a hot pink dubbed ciclamino (Italian for the cyclamen plant); the brand’s signature FF logo jacquard; or handwoven interlaced leather.

This super-cool and refreshing version of the Baguette first revealed as part of Fendi’s collaboration with Marc Jacobs last year is now a staple in finishes such as black nylon and the label’s monogram jacquard. That is if you can get your hands on one – we hear it sells like hotcakes.
