The April 2022 Humans Of Fashion edition of FEMALE which hits newsstands on April 6 casts the spotlight on how we're a people-oriented (as in we feature a lot of people; not that we’re affable) publication. But before you dig into the people-packed issue (100 folks to be exact), here's a fun look at the eclectic bunch that makes up the humans of FEMALE.
“Fashion should be covered no differently from hard news: Ask questions; look at all sides; and think about how the content will relate to audiences, and what they’ll take away from it.”
“If I weren’t in fashion publishing, I would be a fashion historian.”
“I collect and wear a lot of Yohji Yamamoto, but I’ve a 2011 fruit-and-floral-print jacket from him that I’ve never worn because I always find it too loud when I put it on. The tags are all intact – anyone keen to buy it?”
“I think what paperboys wore in the early 20th century was incredibly stylish – I like to reference them in my own dressing.”
"I love fabric labels. They tell you so much about a piece of clothing – where it’s made; what it’s made of; how to care for it and so on. It’s a bit like the text on a box of cereal.”
“My fashion indulgence is travelling and visiting the local vintage stores and markets – something that’s been all the more a luxury with the curb on travel in recent years.”
“I wear platform shoes exclusively – even to the gym. Some might say that it’s impractical, but I guess they just don’t understand the vibe.”
