The Gucci Blondie Shows Why You Can Never Have Too Many Vintage-Inspired Bags
The House of Gucci's latest bag line is infused with striking details fit for free-spirited personas.
The craze of throwback trends these days is not news for Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele who has made creations with an ode to the past a mainstay of his work since Day One. To wit, Gucci has just introduced another bag collection called the Gucci Blondie to its repertoire of vintage-inflected leather goods.

Designed as a structured flap bag with softly curved edges at the base, the Gucci Blondie comes straight out of the '70s fashion playbook with its classic silhouette and flashy gold hardware. The latter is a more rounded and glamorous iteration of the familiar GG hardware logo that was found in archival patent documents dating back to 1971.
Creative director Alessandro Michele is a fan of bringing back iconic designs from Gucci's history – and the Gucci Blondie is no exception.
Available in various sizes, silhouettes, and details, the Gucci Blondie presents an elegant versatility to be worn as a day-time messenger bag, complete with a Web or leather strap to sling across, or as a smaller clutch bag with a dainty chain strap that can be tucked inside for a night out.
For those of us who are all about the mini bag trend, the bag collection is rounded out with a miniature version, detailed with interchangeable and adjustable leather and Web straps. Meanwhile, the multitude of options for the Gucci Blondie extends to the choice of leather, suede, as well as the iconic GG canvas with assorted colours.
