PSA Homeware Freaks: The Gucci Decor Universe Is Expanding
Eclecticism is coming for your home with Gucci Decor.
By Keng Yang Shuen,
Alessandro Michele has always excelled at immersive world-building and it's no surprise that his expressive touch extends to all nooks of the Gucci universe, including homeware. The Gucci Decor line was first launched in 2017 and came to be known for its ornate statement furniture pieces, before expanding into stationery last year.
The latest addition to the Gucci Decor range sees more love given to ancillary items such as wallpapers, blankets, dessert tableware, as well as candles housed in beautiful metal vessels (of which there are four new designs and fragrances — Mehen, Esotericum, Herbosum and Freesia).
Gucci threw a quirky "garden party" for its new Decor items.
If there's a central theme to all of these new additions, it's the fact that they're characterised by interpretations of the house's archival floral prints and animal totems, most clearly seen on pieces like the dessert tableware, which features Gucci's favourite fauna such as bees and tigers.
Accordingly, the campaign that accompanies this launch sees Michele (together with photographer and art director Max Siedentopf) creating an Alice in Wonderland-esque landscape, where the new Gucci Decor items are set within the pristine setting of a topiary garden.
The complete collection will be released gradually at select Gucci boutiques worldwide, though a small group is already available for purchase on the brand's website. Below, our favourite pieces.
