Bagaholicboy Makes a Case For the "Half-Moon Hobo" Bag

“You know how it feels very assuring when you can clasp a bag firmly and comfortably under your arm when you’re out and about? Well, these bags that I’ve dubbed the ‘half moon’ let you do that. It’s actually a rather classic style most synonymous with the ’90s, which might also explain why Prada – one of the most iconic labels of the decade – can be attributed to having helped revive it last year with the introduction of its Re-Edition nylon mini shoulder bag.

The latter’s shape is more traditionally hobo without the rounded base that’s come to define the ‘half-moon’ trend, but I noticed that following its launch, more and more brands started releasing similar models with a more pronounced semi-circle form so much so that you’re spoilt for choice with the variety of colours and finishes these days.

Furthermore, the half-moon’s compact size (usually never bigger than an A4 sheet of paper) is not only cute but also practical. Everything pools in the centre, making it easy to find whatever you need. As weird as that might sound, just try rummaging through the contents of a regular-sized hobo and you’ll know what I mean.” – BB
