What You Need To Know About The Ikea x Byredo Line Of Home Scents
Byredo and Ikea make a strong case for staying indoors.
Ikea has teamed up with Ben Gorham, founder and creative force behind Byredo’s luxury perfume empire, on a divine candle collection “made to provoke the kind of emotion that’s hard to put into words” (think nostalgia, dreams and comfort). The collection will roll out in stores and online from January 21.

Dubbed Osynlig (Swedish for “invisible”), the limited-edition collection features 13 scented candle fragrances across floral, woody, and fresh categories, with prices starting from a very affordable $9.90 – great news for fans who want to snag an olfactory offering of the house without the typical Byredo price tag.
The collaboration focuses on the power of invisible design and how scent can heighten the experience of being at home. “The way your home smells is very emotional and plays a huge part in how you feel being there. It isn’t just about things being functional and practical, it’s the place where you come together with family and friends and make memories,” says Gorham.

One other thing we love about the collection is how the hand-formed ceramic vessel in which each candle is housed doubles up as an elegant, decorative object that can be reused for storage. Glazed with a blend of two colours chosen by Gorham, the jars come with a triangle-shaped marking that references one of the most popular ways people understand fragrance: the top, middle, and base notes.
