Groovy Girl Jisoo Takes Centre Stage In Self-Portrait’s Dreamy Campaign
Looking groovy, Jisoo.
By Imran Jalal,
She may have skipped the Met Gala this week, but Blackpink’s Jisoo is far from missing out. The K-pop icon and global fashion muse stars in Self-Portrait’s Pre-Fall 2025 campaign – her third for the brand – bringing her signature poise and quiet mystique to a series of dreamy, AI-generated landscapes.
Titled Dreams of Past Lives, the campaign is shot by acclaimed photographer Drew Vickers, known for his atmospheric visuals and innovative use of AI. Together with Self-Portrait founder and creative director Han Chong, they’ve created a world where 1960s nostalgia meets sci-fi surrealism – think places that exist only in memory (or a really good dream).
The dreamlike backdrops are AI-generated by Paris-based photographer Drew Vickers, known for blending raw documentary instinct with the polished craft of fashion imagery.
“Even with everything she’s achieved, there’s still a sense of mystery about her, and I think that’s what makes her such a compelling face for the brand," says Chong. "There’s a natural creative rhythm between us that makes each campaign feel like a continuation of a conversation we’re still having.”
Han Chong says the campaign “felt like the perfect way to reflect the mood of the collection – familiar yet surreal, nostalgic yet completely new.”
Set against fantastical, hyperreal backdrops, Jisoo models key pieces from the collection: a nylon windbreaker layered over a gingham bandeau and houndstooth mini skort; a crisp white lace blouse tucked into a beaded cream denim skirt; and a pristine white cotton mini dress paired with the label’s latest must-have: the Rattan Bow Basket Bag.
The overall vibe? Groovy, grounded, and unmistakably Jisoo.
