This Kaws X Uniqlo Outing Is A Collector's Dream

For a limited time only, Uniqlo will be retailing a collectible Kaws art book and merchandise.

Collectors of Kaws merch, you might want to take note of this piece of news. The contemporary artist, whose real name is Brian Donnelly, is releasing a compendium of his work – titled Art Book, Contemporary Artist Series: Kaws – with publisher Phaidon for a limited time only from Sep 8 to 22.

The book is billed as "the definitive study" of the artist's oeuvre which has seen him go from being a graffiti artist in the '90s to becoming one of the most recognisable forces in contemporary art and culture – known for creating gargantuan public sculptures and collaborations with brands from Sacai to Uniqlo.

To mark the book's launch, Uniqlo has announced that it will also retail the 160-page paperback ($79.90) in its stores and on its e-store during the same period. To accompany the release at Uniqlo, Kaws has designed a collection of limited-edition merchandise that features two of his most iconic characters: Companion and BFF. The items include unisex T-shirts and sweatshirts for both adults and children.

While the book is limited to one copy per customer, Uniqlo is sweetening the deal by giving shoppers an exclusive shoulder bag that features Companion taking a dip in the water. Ahead, a peek at what you can cop from this outing.
