What Is Next In Luxury Fashion Is Something A Lot More Fun And Less Quiet
We’re slowly bidding goodbye to the monochromatic quiet luxury, with the new changes in fashion, the next season is bound to shift towards something bolder and louder.
By Alby Amalia Permana,
Fashion is at the dawn of a new era. With the creative director musical chair continuing up until the Spring Summer season, there is undeniably a dire need of something loud or different, and less… quiet. Take Michael Rider’s Celine debut in July, who introduced a new Celine that was all retro American sportswear with a touch of Hedi Slimane’s French chic and Phoebe Philo’s eccentric flair. There was also Julien Klausner’s much celebrated menswear debut for Dries Van Noten who was truly unforgiving in colours and embellishments. If those two collections are any indication, it’s fair to say that quiet luxury is coming to an end.
While quiet luxury simplifies the lines, redefining neutrals and toned colours as the new modern luxury, what is next is certainly a lot more fun. As Schiaparelli’s very own Daniel Roseberry said, “I’m so tired of everyone equating modernity with simplicity: Can’t the modern also be worked, be baroque, be extravagant?”, it seems like everyone shares the same fatigue. The new era of fashion, which has just begun to come into focus, is fully embracing individuality, creating for self rather than trends. With luxury fashion houses looking to rebound sales amidst the economic downturn, it’s only understandable that they are ushering in excitement for the audience – and if it counts, I certainly am excited.
Ahead, some of our favourite styling trends of the season and crops to cop.
CHAOTIC ACCESSORY
Accessories from Celine Spring Summer 2026 collection
Stacks on stacks on stacks. There is no limit to how many jewellery you can wear at once as shown by the latest season collections. Take inspiration from Celine where no fingers are left un-bejewelled. There is no such thing as too much, especially when it comes to personal style.
SHOP OUR FAVOURITES:
1. Resin and brass with gold finish necklace, $1,050, Celine
Adding a statement necklace to your stack is the easiest way to make it “chaotic”. Wear it alone or stack it on top of gold and silver jewellery for a mix metal vibe.
2. 18k gold-finish sterling silver ring with lapis stone, $1,930, Bottega Veneta
Wearing a rock on your finger is not only for the engaged. For a bold look, this blue lapis stone ring is sure going to catch some attention.
3. Brass with gold-finish ring, US$315, MM6 Maison Margiela
Treat jewellery stacking just like layering clothes, there is a base, middle, and outer. A plain gold ring like this one is the foundation you’ll need to build a stack — it won’t clash too much and doesn’t look plain when worn alone.
4. 18k yellow gold ring with diamonds, $8,055, Spinelli Kilcollin
This Spinelli Kilcollin is perfect for stacking, it can be worn on one finger or have the layers opened and wear it across three fingers.
EMBROIDERY FRENZY
Dolce & Gabbana Spring Summer 2026
While embroidery was never gone, this season’s styles suggest it can be for the everyday. We’re taking cues from the likes of Dries Van Noten and Dolce & Gabbana and reach for loose jackets, slouchy dresses, even sleepwear decorated with paillettes.
SHOP OUR FAVOURITES:
1. Cotton-blend top with paillette embellishment, $390, Ganni
Take your basic tank up a notch with this paillette embellished Ganni top. Pair it with your favourite jeans to keep it low-key or go extra with a statement jacket and go extra on accessories.
2. Cotton denim jeans with embellishment, $1,138, Blumarine
Who says bedazzled jeans are just for Taylor Swift’s The Eras tour? These jeans make a great statement pair even for when you just want to keep it simple.
3. Polyamide-blend dress with sequins, $3,468, Rabanne
Slouchy dresses lean more towards casual and fun rather than formal or serious thanks to the relaxed fit. The sequins add just a much needed party flavour.
4. Classic 11.12 satin bag with sequins, glass pearls, and gold-tone metals, price upon request, Chanel
A classic with a twist that comes with a CC logo is bound to turn heads anywhere. Chanel’s flap bag from the brand’s latest Metiers d’Art collection is a serious spotlight stealer.
CLASHING PRINTS
Moschino Fall Winter 2025
The polka dot renaissance is only the tip of the iceberg, if anything, it only means we’re ready for more. We’re seeing more and more prints, from florals, animals, to retro. Simultaneously styled and worn together, clashing upon each other.
SHOP OUR FAVOURITES:
1. Cotton-blend top with embroidery, $5,500, Valentino
Chic doesn’t always come in a form of neutral cashmeres and an IYKYK bag, sometimes it’s a cotton blouse with two different motifs on one.
2. Silk muslin skirt, $4,050, Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello
This romantic Saint Laurent mini skirt is a great start to introduce print to your wardrobe. It pairs beautifully with plain shirts or even other prints like plaid and stripes.
3. Suede shoulder bag, $1,200, Isabel Marant
Leopard wasn’t just a trend in passing, it’s become a wardrobe staple. I personally love this suede bag from Isabel Marant that screams cool and chic all at once. That leather braiding and tassel? Totally boho.
4. Cotton tie, US$115, Engineered Garments
Neckties have endless styling options – imagine pairing this with a striped shirt or plaid blazer. Obsessed.
TURN UP THE VOLUME
Dior Spring Summer 2026
Quiet luxury didn’t necessarily strip us off of voluminous silhouettes, but it certainly isn’t their biggest fan. This season goes even further in volume, going XXL, whether on the sleeves, shoulders, and below the waist. We especially are welcoming back the harem pants, or better known as genie pants in 2025 with open arms.
SHOP OUR FAVOURITES:
1. Cotton shirt dress, EU5,200, Schiaparelli
Shirts are always a must in any wardrobe. To make it more fun, Schiaparelli adds volume to the sleeve and mismatched buttons.
2. Wool-blend dress, $3,560, Alaia
Why settle for a boring LBD when you can go extra? This Alaia dress is a rather simple number, but the bubble skirt accentuates your waist and will have you looking super snatched.
3. Cotton trousers, $1,800, Loewe
Be fun, be bold, be strange. Go for the weird once in a while, like this sculptural shorts from Loewe that turns up the funk.
4. Silk pants, $993, Aflalo
Genie pants might just be the new jeans for the fact that it pairs with quite literally anything. Whether you’re going to the beach or the office, you can easily style the pants for any occasion.
LAYERS, LAYERS, LAYERS
Dries Van Noten Spring Summer 2026
Layering adds texture to an outfit for that added touch of personal style. A scarf tied on the waist on top of a blazer or sarong on top of pants add that flair to the otherwise plain but classic casual t-shirts and jeans combination we all know and love.
SHOP OUR FAVOURITES:
1. Linen-blend cardigan, $750, Acne Studios
The key to layering is to understand the balance of colours, texture, and proportions. This cropped cardigan can easily be worn over long shirts and the sheer material allows the garment underneath to pop out, adding more depth to an outfit.
2. Leather jacket, DKK7,000, By Malene Birger
A wardrobe essential for layering is a good piece of leather jacket that can be styled with many different outfits. A classic black can never do you wrong, plus, the fringes will give any outfit a cool edge.
3. Silk-satin skirt, $1,856, Dries Van Noten
Draw inspiration from Dries Van Noten menswear Spring Summer 2026 collection and wrap a skirt over your pants, it is an easy way to add colours to your outfit while still remains to be both elegant and fun.
4. Silk scarf, $950, Hermes
A silk scarf from Hermes never goes out of style, really. The latest fashion trends prove that there are endless ways to wear a scarf — on your waist, tied on a bag, or as even as a belt.
