Last Wednesday night, the French maison took over a warehouse located in a Pasir Panjang industrial nook. The occasion? A by-invite-only trunk show and party to celebrate Louis Vuitton's irreverent Spring Summer 2023 collection, to which several hundreds of the brand's VIP clientele, celebrities and influencers turned up in force.

Louis Vuitton transformed this Pasir Panjang warehouse into its stronghold for the night.

First shown in Paris' Louvre Palace last October, the Spring Summer 2023 collection was notable for its ultra-exaggerated take on utilitarian objects such as buckles, zippers and luggage tags, XXL envelope clutches and a distinctly Space Age-y mood.

The Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2023 collection was a humourous experiment in proportions, while retaining creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere's long-running love for sci-fi tropes; cue this eye-catching tubular top on opening model and house ambassador Jung Ho-yeon.

The embroidery in this collection continued that XXL energy - the design team had transferred fabric images to computers and blew them up 500 per cent in order to highlight the textures of each thread. And fashion geeks might have noticed echoes of creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere's earlier works for the maison, as exampled in a blouse from his second Louis Vuitton collection that's now zoomed in on and turned into an entire dress for the current Spring Summer 2023 outing.

"There's an emphasis on the identifiers of femininity," says Ghesquiere. "I took a lot of details from previous collections and highlighted them; I deliberately showed (that) because creativity is circular, it loops back."

This "dollhouse" number is a miniaturised version of the Louis Vuitton family home in Asnieres, France.

Other playful details that delighted guests was the appearance of the dollhouse bag on the runway - the quirky design was modeled after the Louis Vuitton family's ancestral home in Asnieres (a village on the outskirts of Paris) that also houses its traditional trunk-making atelier and La Galerie, a permanent exhibition space.

Platform lovers, the Archlight 2.0 are the kicks to covet this season at Louis Vuitton.

And the eagle-eyed would also have spotted the Archlight 2.0 - the latest iteration of Louis Vuitton's popular sneakers that first debuted at the brand's Spring Summer 2018 show. Now applied across a wide range of loafers, ankle and knee-high boots, the Archlight 2.0 is the original on steroids; their platform soles more pronounced and chunkier than its predecessor.

And incidentally, the design was the footwear choice of many at the party that took place after the runway show wrapped - scroll on for more of the night's shiny names:
