This Is The Most Luxurious Foundation We’ve Ever Come Across
We’ve tried a lot of different foundations (and we mean A LOT), but this has got to be the most luxe one we’ve ever used before.

Being a beauty journalist means a ton of makeup and skincare lands on your table almost on a daily basis, so expensive products don’t usually shock me. But I have to admit, I was initially taken aback when I found out that the latest Cle de Peau Beaute cream foundation – aptly named The Foundation – cost $430. So obviously, I had to (in the name of research, oh the sacrifices we make for work!) test it out myself to determine if it was worth its price tag.
The first thing that strikes you about the foundation is how gorgeous the packaging is. It resembles the brand’s iconic La Creme with its multi-faceted champagne-gold jar. Inside, the foundation has a texture that feels more like a gel-cream moisturiser. It blends effortlessly into skin to give you coverage without looking, or feeling, as if you have any base makeup on.
When I asked Cle de Peau Beaute’s assistant marketing manager about it, she told me that the foundation is chock full of skincare ingredients so it’s almost like a tinted moisturiser. Formulated with the brand’s Illuminating Veil Infusion – a blend of extracts, oils and blurring technology – the foundation not only gives instant coverage but also has long-term skincare benefits like brightening and firming. It also has skin conditioning Chai Hu extract and antioxidants to smooth, plump and protect the complexion.
I’ve been using The Foundation for about a week now, and while it's too short to see any long-term benefits, I noticed that my sensitive skin never felt dry or uncomfortable even after wearing it the entire day. But what I loved most about it was that it not only hid my flaws and evened out my skin tone, it also gave me a soft dewy glow so I looked fresh even with only a couple hours of sleep. And if like me, you’re wary of cream foundations because of Singapore’s humid weather, then this is definitely for you. After applying it over my face, it was so light that I barely felt anything at all.
Even after just a few days of using it, Cle de Peau Beaute’s The Foundation has already shot to the top of my must-have makeup list. It truly is a delight to use. I’ve started using it sparingly so the precious jar will last as long as possible.
