With a fan-given nickname like “Human Chanel”, it’s no surprise that Jennie Kim – vocalist-slash-rapper of K-pop super girl group Blackpink – is into her double-Cs.

Named a global ambassador for the French luxury house in 2018, the 25-year-old is one of the most prominent and closely watched faces of Chanel today. Now, she’s adding another camellia-shaped notch to her belt as the face of the brand’s Coco Neige ski collection, which recently hit boutiques.

Lensed by photographer duo Inez and Vinoodh, the campaign sees the baby-faced beauty channel key facets of the Chanel DNA – nonchalance, elegance, effortless cool – all while clad in the latest edition of the apres-ski capsule (she’s a huge ski fan herself).

And while the line is ostensibly designed for snowier climates, it includes transeasonal styles such as silk bra tops and wool cardigans (zhooshed up in hot pink, no less) that move – as the brand puts it – “between sport and style with an agile grace”.

Created in 2018 by Karl Lagerfeld, the end-of-year Coco Neige collections are dedicated to winter sportswear. True to form, the pieces are crafted in elevated yet functional, outdoor-friendly fabrics such as coated canvas, and include chic athleisure separates perfect for the times – no air ticket needed.

The iconography of Chanel takes a snowy twist in its latest Coco Neige collection. See the interlocking Cs interpreted to bring to mind playful igloo blocks, and the snowflake embellishments on these snug trousers that are cut from a comfy cashmere and silk blend.

The accessories – in line with the sporty lifestyle concept of Chanel’s Coco Neige collection – have been cleverly designed for ease of movement (and plenty of style) both on and off ski slopes. Micro bags, for example, can be worn hands-free high on the arm or around the neck, while leather and chain necklaces come with card holders or a headphone case attached.
