Midnight 00: The Fledgling Footwear Label With Seriously Pumped Up Kicks

Plastic is fantastic when it comes wrapped around your precious satin pumps to protect it from the elements (think: party-proof). The demi-couture footwear label, Midnight 00 was originally created as a collaboration between street style star Ada Kokosar and Italian luxury shoe brand Cesare Paciotti in 2017. But Midnight 00 quickly gained popularity on Instagram for its unique statement styles in bright colours with ruffled PVC, pleated silks and crystal embroidery.

“Midnight for me is the fairytale, the dream, the magic,” said Kokosar. And indeed, she dreamt up a shoe inspired by Cinderella’s glass slipper — though far more practical and modern with the PVC element contrasted by duchesse satin, rich velvet and crystal embellishments. Silhouettes range from traditional pumps to modern mules and strappy stilettos, all laced with crystals or pearls.

After Matches Fashion picked up Midnight 00’s first collection exclusively in Fall/Winter '18, Kokosar has 14 other major retailers — Browns Fashion and Galeries Lafayette to name but a few — stocking her SS19 collection.
