Basically, it's everything skinny jeans isn't.

The next big Y2K trend comes straight out of the style playbook of boybands like A1 and Nsync and pop stars like All Saints and one Sporty Spice. We're talking about parachute pants which they would wear with anything from matching jackets, baby tees and tank tops. Fast forward to 20 years later, and variants of these baggy bottoms are popping up at labels such as Dion Lee and Loewe as well as in the wardrobes of Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid.

Much like their not-so-distant cousin the cargo pants, the parachute style, which often comes with multiple pockets, traces its roots to military uniforms. But they offer way more than just utilitarian appeal – thanks to the comfortable lightweight nylon material they usually come in and their fashion edge, a pair of parachute pants are our new must-have for acing effortless chic.
