By KENG YANG SHUEN,
It may come as a surprise that Proenza Schouler turns 15 this year. The New York label has consistently been a hit since the '00s for their cool-downtown girl aesthetic, and its made stars out of the founders, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.
So if you're a fan of the label, you'll be glad to hear that they're launching a new line called Proenza Schouler White Label (PSWL) that could be considered a more casual extension to the existing line - think everyday-friendly denim, t-shirts, sweatshirts and outerwear. Prices will start from $360 for T-shirts to upwards of $1,100 for outerwear.
The first drop of PSWL's debut season has just hit stores this week (in Singapore, the line is exclusive to the Hilton Shopping Gallery store), with a second drop scheduled for next January. Going by Proenza Schouler's past hits (remember the massive craze over their signature PS1 satchel bag back in 2008?), you'd be wise not to tarry. Personally, I have my eye on that nifty drawstring denim jacket and the striking pink parka that would not look out of place at any fashion week.
