The Female Team Is Loving The Latest Sneaker Collaborations From Rihanna & Kanye

Puma and Adidas Original tap on two of hip-hop's most stylish artists for sneaker collections that are big on swag.

One thing urban artistes have that everyone else in the music biz lacks is swag. And where Rihanna and Kanye West are concerned, it's major swag. Bad news: that tough attitude can't be taught. But Puma and Adidas Originals have got an easy way for ordinary folks to cop their style with shoe collections that the duo designed.

In September, @badgalriri, who was appointed Puma's women's creative director last December, debuted a range of thick creeper soles under her own Fenty label using Puma's retro-tinged Suede trainers, in a monochromatic colour scheme. The latest additions to the collection, which drops in stores this month, bear a more cheery note in colours like white, powdery pink and peacock blue. The effect is more rudeboy cool than sporty, and is the kind of shoes that would sit well in her music videos (like Bitch Better Have My Money, FourFiveSeconds or American Oxygen).

Meanwhile, Kanye West proved that while fashion critics mock his career as a fashion designer, one thing he is good at is creating shoes. The Yeezy Boost 750 sneaker, which he debuted with Adidas Originals in February, now comes in an all-black suede update. If Rick Owens, Helmut Lang and Hood by Air are in your wardrobe, then this is the kind of casual kicks you need.
