Rimowa Debuts Exclusive Personalisation Services At Its New Flagship Boutique
The German luxury suitcase brand’s Crafted-for-You programme was unveiled together with this Cologne flagship, with brand ambassador Lewis Hamilton in attendance.
Talk about a homecoming. Rimowa goes full circle with its new flagship boutique, returning to where it all began in Cologne, Germany – mere steps away from where the brand’s first workshop was set up in 1898. Located right next to the majestic Kolner Dom (also known as Cologne Cathedral) and spanning across two floors, this 500-square-metre duplex flagship aptly sits within the new luxury enclave of Dom Carre.

Enter through the grand columns and you’ll find plenty of green within: animated green parakeet decorations in a nod to the birds commonly found in the city, and a soft patina green hue across the staircase and walls, which you’ll see on bridges throughout Cologne. One particular wall is dedicated to displays of archival Rimowa designs, ranging from vintage wardrobe trunks to the newest launches.
Within this boutique is also a care centre that takes in worn and weathered Rimowa suitcases for repair works carried out with expert precision.
In attendance at the grand opening in mid-May 2026 was brand ambassador and Formula 1 champion Sir Lewis Hamilton, who was presented with a silver custom-made vinyl case.
Although Hamilton’s one-of-a-kind piece is not for public sale, Rimowa’s new ‘Crafted-for-You’ programme lets discerning travellers and style enthusiasts alike create their own bespoke luggages and suitcases through its new ‘Crafted-for-You programme – exclusively available at the Cologne flagship store’s mezzanine atelier.
