Leather Bags Are About To Be A Thing At Rimowa
The iconic suitcase brand steps into fashion territory with Groove, a new all-leather bag collection.
By Carlos Keng,
Rimowa — the OG aluminium suitcase brand that’s been the backdrop of every jet-setter’s highlight reel — just went soft. You see, the German maison has just dropped Groove, a new collection that swaps its signature hard shells for bags crafted with buttery calf leather that are perfect for navigating cities, moods, and moments.

There are four designs in the Groove collection, each carrying Rimowa’s codes in different registers: the clean, architectural Shopping Bag; the slouch-perfect Hobo; and two sizes of Cross-Body that already look like they’ll be hanging off the shoulders of fashion insiders.
Rimowa’s new Groove collection - its first all-leather range - sports the brand’s familiar ridges.
Each one reimagines Rimowa’s linear motif — now rendered in a more directional, oversized version — across soft, sculptural forms.

THE CROSS-BODY
Compact, structured, and basically begging to be styled with vintage denim and a pair of razor-sharp boots. the Cross-Body takes Rimowa’s history in travel, and re-spins it as a streetwear trophy. With smooth lines, shiny palladium hardware, and a no-fuss wide zip, it’s the bag you grab when you want hands-free ease, but still look like you’ve thought about it. It’s even got a suitcase-style handle, a nod to Rimowa’s DNA — now reborn for the street.

The Cross-Body comes in two sizes — the Small (S$1,600) is your everyday go-to; the Large (S$2,360) has that statement-making, “see me from across the room” energy.
The Groove Shopping Bag sports a slit that allows you to slide it neatly onto a suitcase’s handle - nifty.
THE SHOPPING BAG
Need a bag that can keep up? The capacious Shopping Bag (S$2,870) is your girl; it fits a 13-inch laptop for all your digital nomad needs and includes a thoughtful detachable leather pouch. Plus, the handle slides right onto your suitcase’s telescopic handle for easy travel, and a detachable pouch help to keep the chaos chic.
The Groove Hobo (on right) melds utility with good looks.
THE HOBO
The Hobo (S$2,700) is the subtle scene-stealer: a vertical number with slouch appeal and an adjustable strap that goes cross-body, over-shoulder, or front-sling, depending on your vibe. It’s polished enough for an art opening, casual enough for the after-parties, and still fits your laptop. Plus, like the Shopping Bag, it slips effortlessly onto your suitcase handle through a hidden sleeve, serving up both function and design.
The Groove Cross-Body bags come in a variety of hues.
Colour-wise, black is the only permanent shade across the Groove Collection. Silver—a nod to Rimowa’s aluminium heritage—is seasonal, including on both the Small and Large Cross-Body bags. The smaller Cross-Bodys also arrive in playful seasonal hues like pink, burgundy, and green; AKA instant fashion-girl catnip.
You just know the fashion girlies are going to eat up the colourful small Cross-Body bags.
Rimowa’s so confident in the looks and longevity of these made-in-Italy bags, they’re backing them with an impressive two-year guarantee. Fashion with backbone? Now that we like.
