From the coolest denim to wear now, to the latest It accessor to own, we round up the hottest S/S'18 fashion trends to know in February.

The Statement Piece: A BBD
The term (remember, you heard it here first) is short for "big beautiful dress", which figuratively and literally describes this unexpected one-piece. It's being mooted in S/S'18 by nearly all the brands that industry insiders love - Prada, Jacquemus and Mulberry, to name a few. And, unlike proportionately stretched creations of, say, Commes des Garcons, it's really an exaggerated take on classically girlie cocktail numbers, so while it's arty, it's still pretty. That alone should make the look even bigger.

The It Accessory: A Bucket Hat
Yeah, yeah, Liam Gallagher's headgear of choice has even slowly trending in the past two years, but it never shook off its street thug/rebel connection. In S/S'18, designers (and we too) say enough. Instead of standard cotton, it's now printed, or in pastel tweed, crochet or plastic. Instead of merely complementing basics or street wear, it goes back to doing what a hat should do: complete a look - from polished, Thatcher-style skirt suits to pretty weekend dresses. In other words, it's fashion It.

The New Smart Casual: Dark Wash Denim
Enthusiast rave about raw denim - you know, the kind that's unwashed, so it's stiffer, and comes in a dark indigo hue that'll transform with wear and tear, with some of the legit ones costing a premium. This isn't quite it. What you should want now is for the material to come in and stay an inky deep blue. Going its surprisingly womanly S/S'18 interpretations (power suits, sensuous day dresses etc), the tone offers the same polish and versatility as tailoring fabrics, along with an everyday kind of ease. And while denim heads might snort at such runway adaptations, they shouldn't at the make: Fendi's is woven with silk, while Max Mara's is crafted from a soft linen-satin blend that looks just like the real deal.

The New Pairing: Sporty + Boho
Clashing two distinct styles has become one of the most taken-for-granted styling tips. This combo, however, isn't for (or at least, not till the street style crowd overdoes it). Start with any athletic-inspired garment - a sweatshirt, track pants or even a sports bra as seen in Etro S/S'18 - then pile on jewellery that look like they could have come from a souk. Here, Saint Laurent perfects the look with Berber-inspired chains on a bomber jacket. Instantly, two of fashion's most overdone trends look fresh again (which also means you probably already have what you need to channel this in your wardrobe).
