The Venue: This season’s runway showcased a striking steel and glass archway, approximately 70 meters long, adorned with thought-provoking slogans, including the impactful phrase, “I don’t know if I’ve ever shined, but I have resisted.”

Sagg Napoli, a 33-year-old Italian multidisciplinary artist and competitive archer, created this installation. As models strutted down the runway, Napoli approached a target at centre stage, skillfully releasing arrows, crafting a powerful visual narrative that seamlessly blended art and fashion.

The Takeaway: Although the Olympics are now behind us, Maria Grazia Chiuri captivated Paris with her Spring/Summer 2025 collection, emphasising sport and the strength of the feminine body. Sagg Napoli’s presence underscored this dynamic theme, drawing inspiration from archery and the Amazons.
Sagg Napoli decorated the installation at the center of the runway with seven slogans, including the prominent text, “May the building of a strong mind and a strong body be the greatest work I have ever made" (in foreground).
Chiuri's interest in athleticism is well-established; her debut collection eight years ago was influenced by fencing, skillfully merging strength with softness and romance. This season, she revisited the Amazone dress from Christian Dior’s 1951 archives, inspired by female hunters and warriors, paralleling Napoli’s approach to the ancient discipline of archery, which requires a harmonious balance of body and mind.
The show featured a recurring theme of bodysuits, which added a sleek and athletic element to the overall aesthetic.
The collection features innovative cuts and a predominantly monochromatic palette, including bodysuits, off-shoulder shirts, corsets, knee-high gaiters, and sporty racer jackets. Notably, the iconic Bar jacket received a contemporary update, paired with track pants, while goddess-like gowns were refreshed with stretch jersey for a more relaxed aesthetic.
Since her first collection in 2016, Chiuri has fundamentally redefined the concept of the Dior woman. In her vision, fashion transcends mere style; it becomes a means of empowerment. One can only speculate how her future explorations might further transform this narrative.
