Last year's F ZINE People Cam at SAW was basically style central. This year's 13th edition (it ran from Jan 17-26) did not disappoint with over 130 programmes, showcasing everything from established artists to fresh young talent. While we did appreciate the art at destinations such as Art SG at Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Art Museum at Tanjong Pagar Distripark, we were equally obsessed with the attendees who turned the streets into their own personal runways. Scroll on for some serious style envy.

Name: Clasutta

Age: 30

Occupation: Artist

Spotted at: Art SG

Her fit: “I’m wearing a simple white turtleneck and a jacket I snagged from an online shop. I personalised the jacket with a bunch of adorable Susuwatari for a playful touch. I painted my white shorts, and my hat is a special piece customised by a friend. My bag is from Rite, a cool Taiwanese brand, and it was gifted to me by another friend. The keychain attached to my trousers is a bunny bag charm from Samo Ondoh, a Korean brand. Lastly, my accessories are a treasure trove of trinkets I hunted down on Shopee.”

Her style inspiration: “I’m definitely inspired by Japanese fashion, but I like to put my own twist on it. I’m all about creating a quirky look that’s fun and sweet — a bit like my art, with those cute-but-creepy creatures!”

On the influence of art and being an artist on her style: "As an artist, I want to turn heads and make people remember my name: Clasutta! That’s why bold, colourful clothes speak to me. I used to go through a monochrome phase like everyone else, but I realised I wanted to let my unique style shine. That's why I’m all about colourful clothes, just like my personality now."

One colour she would wear for the rest of her life: "If I had to wear just one colour, it would be yellow for joy, but neon pink is a close second because it steals attention. Bright, bold, and a little playful – just how I like it!"

Occupation: Artist

Her fit: “I customised my top, boots and bag by myself. As for my skirt, I bought it from a marketplace.”

On her relationship with art and fashion: “My outfits are often an extension of my own artworks. When I create a painting, I sometimes incorporate elements of it into my customised outfits. At times, I spontaneously embellish my outfits with beads and sparkling rhinestones because I feel good when I wear them. It feels like I’m creating art in a different form. I love the feeling of being a walking piece of art.”

Her style in three words: "Bold, funky, glamorous. I love looking pretty, but also quirky and strong at the same time. This style boosts my confidence as it makes me feel unique. I just want to be myself."

Her artistic influences: "My influences come from visual artists, fashion designers, makeup artists, and more. Some of the incredible people who have inspired my work include my mentor Atreyu Moniaga, Japanese artist Takato Yamamoto, and New York-based sculptor Kathleen Ryan. I am also inspired by fashion designers like John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, and Guo Pei.”

Age: 30

Occupation: Student

Her fit: "I am wearing a leather coat that was gifted to me by a friend who owns a leather company in China. I paired it with knee-high boots under my long dress."

Inspiration behind her fit: "I usually plan my outfits based on intuition – for example, today I wanted to wear something simple like (the colours) black and white. I wanted to balance the toughness of the leather jacket with a softer material, which is why I chose to wear a Y2K-style skirt. I also love to accessorise with more exaggerated pieces, which is why I added them to my outfit."

A fashion trend she hopes to see more of in 2025: “I hope to see more people embracing their own personal style. It would be nice to see more people being bold in what they wear and feeling more confident to express themselves and their personality through fashion and the outfits they choose!”

A memorable art piece for her: "Recently, I saw a painting by Chu Chu, an artist born in Hangzhou, China. Her painting, titled Whisper of Trees – Osmanthus Fragrant, simply depicts a large tree branch. While there is nothing complicated at first glance, I feel that the simplicity of the painting also has a powerful side to it."

His fit: "My top is from MooHong, an online purchase from a Korean brand. My bottoms are from Julius, which I bought while on holiday in Tokyo. I wore Fitflops shoes as I needed to be comfortable for the art fair."

His personal style: "I would describe my style as 'understated drama. I like to make an impact without being 'loud'."

How he got into art: “I started collecting art about 30 years ago, purchasing pieces from artists I liked. Now, I buy from galleries like RKFA. I also love it when I become part of the work of artists like Natee Utarit and Richard Hassell.”

One colour he can wear for the rest of his life: “Black. It’s slimming, and it's mysterious too.”

Age: 27

Occupation: Artist and designer

His fit: “My top is from Miaoran Studio from Club 21, and my shorts are from Taobao. I’m wearing winter boots from Crocs. I designed the rings I’m wearing by myself. I have a family business where we make jewellery pieces (@masterpiecejewellery.sg on Instagram)."

Favourite part of being an artist: "The delusion of having lived an authentic existence, and also free food when you go to openings."

Favourite way of accessorising: “I like to wear at least one silly item, like Kirby Jibbitz on my purple Crocs or Twilight-themed shirts. I think it makes everyone happy. This outfit has none, though, because I went for a more socially acceptable look for today’s event.”

His personal style: “"I just want to look cute and wear what makes me happy and comfortable. As I age, I compensate for my diminishing youth by wearing sillier things to remind me of simpler times."

Occupation: Art advisor

Spotted at: Art SG

Her fit: "My transparent top and bag are from Urban Revivo, and my inner top was bought from a shop in China. My skirt is from Love Bonito, and my shoes are from an online store, but I can’t recall where. I bought my accessories from L’amant, a Singapore-born jewellery brand."

My hair clips are inspired by my friend, whose accessories and style have a Harajuku influence. Working in the art industry, I aim to keep my attire both creative and professional."

Favourite part of being an art advisor: "The aspect of art discovery and sharing knowledge with investors and art collectors. I get to travel around the world to attend art fairs and visit prominent art museums, art foundations like the Louis Vuitton Art Foundation, and top galleries like Gagosian and David Zwirner. We also have to keep uncovering the best artworks and tracking global art market trends, which keeps things interesting. My job also allows me to share my art history knowledge related to the market, such as how the art market functioned during the World War I and II periods."

Favourite artist: "One of my favourite artists is Rashid Johnson. He creates art in various forms: sculpting, painting, drawing, filmmaking, and creating art installations. His work always yields a complex multidisciplinary practice through incorporating diverse materials rich with symbolism and personal history. He is a Black American artist who lived in Chicago, and his works reflect societal issues and movements like 'Black Lives Matter.' I love how his works are always interesting and creative, while also maintaining a meaningful side."

Occupation: Model

His fit: "I’m wearing a top I thrifted from Lucky Plaza, secured at the centre with an earring hoop. My coat is a Parisian find, and my bottoms are hand-me-downs. The boots are from Charles & Keith, and the jewellery was sourced from JBR Bundle in Kuala Lumpur. The bag is a Kansai Yamamoto vintage designer piece from the 1980s, discovered at a Tokyo store called 2nd Street. During my December trip to Japan, the winter vibes and layering opportunities influenced my fashion choices upon returning to Singapore. The monsoon season also inspired me to incorporate more layers."

His ultimate fashion icon: “David Bowie and Miley Cyrus. They infuse their personalities into their styles throughout every era, transition, and phase of growth. I find their styles uniquely and authentically their own.”

On what sparked his love for fashion and art: "Designing and clothing sparked my love for fashion and art. I began my artistic journey with fashion illustrations, so that's where my passion originates. I would also say that films contributed to my love for art as well, as I've watched many since I was young. I'm not sure if I'm a cinephile, but I'm definitely a movie lover."

His fashion pet peeve: "When individuals wear something merely for the sake of it, without putting effort or uniqueness into elevating their look"

His fit: "My suit is designed by a designer who collaborates with the Japanese brand Beams. The tie is from Yves Saint Laurent, and the shirt and shoes are vintage finds from a second-hand store. Name: Elizabeth Heah

Age: 30

Occupation: Doctor

Spotted at: Art SG

Her fit: “My top and clutch bag are from Cult Gaia, and my skirt is from Our Second Nature. I’m wearing shoes from Bottega Veneta, earrings from Ring Concierge, and rings from Flower Diamond. The inspiration behind my outfit comes from my attraction to sculptural designs in both art and fashion. The natural shapes and earthy color choices reflect my appreciation for nature and geology. My wardrobe tends to favour neutral tones, so I look for pieces with distinctive forms to add intrigue and depth to my look.”

A fashion item she cannot leave the house without: "Lip gloss is my go-to! On most days, I keep my style minimal and may skip makeup altogether, but a swipe of lip gloss instantly adds a burst of color and liveliness to my face with little effort. It’s an easy way to brighten my complexion and complement any outfit."

On what sparked her interest in art: “As a doctor, my training is rooted in evidence-based practices, which keeps me grounded in logic and structure. However, I sometimes find myself yearning for a creative outlet. Art is limitless, and I enjoy the freedom of expression. In my work in aesthetic medicine, we constantly blend science with artistry to achieve the best outcomes. Developing an artistic eye is crucial in this field, so I actively engage in creative pursuits like art and interior design to cultivate and nurture this side of me.”

On what she hopes to see more of in fashion or art: “In 2025, I hope to see a continued shift toward conscious fashion and minimalism. I’m personally focused on buying intentionally and reducing fashion waste, which allows me to curate a wardrobe that is both purposeful and sustainable. By embracing a more mindful approach to fashion, I can not only make more thoughtful purchasing decisions but also become more intentional with how I dress, finding new ways to wear and appreciate pieces I already own. It’s about valuing quality over quantity and fostering a deeper connection with what we wear.”

His fit: “I’m wearing an inner shirt from Uniqlo and a blazer from Sandro. My pants are from Doublet, my shoes are from Jimmy Choo, and my bag is from Diesel. I’m also wearing a watch from Tissot and gold and diamond accessories from various brands.”

Inspiration behind his outfit: “I am always inspired by the artworks I create in my studio. My outfits always reflect elements of who I am as a ceramic and crystal sculptor, as well as a visual artist. No matter what I wear or the situation, I always stay true to my personal styling codes. It has helped me build a consistent and cohesive wardrobe.”

On how being an artist influenced his personal style: “My personal style fluctuates depending on the concept, story, and visual direction of the artworks I intend to create. For example, during my first solo exhibit in 2024, the artworks were bright and cheerful. Similarly, my daily looks during that time had the same bright aesthetic, as my style was influenced by my art.”

An underrated fashion trend: “I think wearing simple and clean looks, free of big logos, prints, fishnets, or loud patterns, should be celebrated more. Simple looks can make you look amazing and direct the focus to you and your personality instead.”

Age: 32

Occupation: Works at Meta

Spotted at: Tanjong Pagar Distripark

Her outfit: “My dress is from Massimo Dutti, and my top is from Zara. I’m wearing Birkenstock slippers and carrying a Gucci Bamboo bag. The inspiration for my outfit comes from the mystique of the deep ocean, where light begins to dwindle. I’m drawn to the unknown, and this look captures the essence of that allure.”

On the first artwork that made her interested in art: “As a child, I was utterly fascinated by comic books like Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile, Conan, Doraemon, and more. These fun worlds sparked my imagination and fueled my love for art. As I grew older, my travels introduced me to abstract art, which has remained a constant source of inspiration."

Her favourite way to accessorise: “I love semi-precious stones and handmade accessories, often discovered during my travels. Each piece tells a story, and I love how they add an extra layer of depth to my outfits. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about the memories and experiences attached to each item.”

On what she hopes to see more of this year: “I’m eager to see fashion and art that embody hope and positivity. In a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming, we need reminders of the beauty and joy that surround us. I’d love to see designers push boundaries with innovative materials, create pieces that spark meaningful conversations, and craft items that exude quiet confidence – all while radiating an aura of optimism and joy.”

Age: 23

Occupation: Photographer

Spotted at: Tanjong Pagar Distripark

Her fit: "My skirt, blazer, and shoes are from Taobao, and my denim pants are from Popo. My bag is from a Korean brand called Grain De Beaute. My necklace and earrings are from Torrid, and my bracelet is from Cartier. The main idea of my outfit is cohesion. The standout feature of this dress is its lower half, so I paired it with denim to add contrast and structure. The lightweight fabric of the dress creates an airy, flowy feel, so I balanced it with black loafers to add grounding weight. Since the asymmetrical hemline adds movement, I layered a blazer over it to introduce sharpness and structure, tying the whole look together."

Her personal style: “I prefer to keep my style undefined, so I’m not confined to a single aesthetic. Instead, I enjoy exploring different sides of myself. Humans are complex, and we experience a mix of emotions, so why shouldn’t our style reflect that? To me, fashion is simply a form of expression. The way I dress reflects my mood, my thoughts, and how I feel in the moment.”

An underrated fashion trend: “I hope to see more formal wear beyond the office setting. I love incorporating formal pieces into my style because they can be expressive, bold, and deeply personal. The Singapore climate leans towards casual dressing, but I think there is room for more people to embrace dressing up – not by layering excessively, but by making intentional choices. We can play with different concepts to elevate an outfit while still being comfortable. I’d love to see more people embrace the art of dressing well, not just for occasions, but as a way of self-expression in everyday life.”

On what made her interested in art: “My passion for photography naturally led me to appreciate different forms of art. I used to do editorial and conceptual shoots with my modelling friends, and the whole experience taught me a new way to express myself through the camera lens, my outfits, and my emotions in everyday moments. It’s fascinating how an image or a piece of art can capture an entire mood, a fleeting second, or a deeper narrative. That curiosity extends to fashion, design, and other creative fields. For me, art isn’t just something to admire; it’s a way of seeing and engaging with the world.”

Occupation: Civil servant

His fit: “I am wearing an undershirt from Zara and a denim vest I thrifted from Coldwater Creek. My skort is from Hypnotism, a fashion brand based in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. My shoes are Puma RS-X Efekt Sneakers, and I’m wearing socks from the Uniqlo x JW Anderson collaboration. I got my jewellery from various thrift stores, and my bag from Lifestylemart was a gift from my aunt.”

On what makes his style unique: "I’d say there are three parts to my style. I love nature – the sky, water, trees, and clouds – as they always give me a sense of peace, and I love to channel that imagery in what I wear. I’m always aspiring to be a softer, gentler, and kinder person, and I want to reflect that in my self-image. At the same time, I really enjoy elegance, so I like elements that strike a balance between classy and casual. Lastly, whenever I can, I lean into androgynous and feminine styles of dressing; it just gives me a lot of joy."

On something he hopes to see more of in fashion: “I would like to see more men wear skirts! Besides that, I also hope people focus more on how they can create interesting and new combinations with pieces they already have by restoring or reworking old clothes. Recently, I’ve been trying to do that myself by committing to not mindlessly chasing trends and making a conscious effort to consume less.”

His advice for those wanting to develop their personal style: “Don’t be afraid of looking bad and don’t be afraid of change. Figuring out my style was all trial and error for me. I looked awkward and bad at the start, and I still do sometimes when I try new things! It was an exercise in figuring out what worked for me and what I wanted, while trying to develop an understanding of the visual language of fashion so I could articulate what feels true to me. Developing your style will always be a work in progress!”
