Meet the Lauvers spotted at the recent Bewitched: The Goddess Tour by Laufey.

Laufey, our March 2024 cover star, has revitalized jazz-inspired pop and bossa nova in today's music scene. Fans adore her relatable lyrics and soothing melodies. Her lifestyle has also influenced Lauvers globally, from joining her book club and sipping oat milk lattes to embracing the coquette London girl style.
This influence was evident at her Bewitched: The Goddess Tour on September 4 at the Singapore Expo, where concertgoers showcased their love for Laufey's aesthetic with a plethora of bows. In this edition of FEMALE People Cam, we feature stylish Lauvers whose outfits are perfect for a night at the orchestra – or, in this case, a night with Laufey on stage. Her fit: “Most of what I wore is thrifted, somewhere in Haji Lane if I remember correctly. I got my shoes from my mother, and my bag and pins are from Shopee.”
Inspiration behind her outfit: “A lot of pictures I found on Pinterest – literally any 2000s leopard print outfits – and the anime NANA. My hairstyle that day was inspired by Alice Guen (@pizza4alice on Instagram) and @sarahhchi0 on TikTok.”
Favourite Laufey song: “Her song Night Light is such a beautiful track. I used to listen to it to help me fall asleep. It reminds me to make the most of my childhood, especially since I’m still young.”
Her personal style: “I don’t like sticking to one specific style because I feel it limits my ability to explore. I dress a little differently every time I go out. However, if I had to narrow it down, my style is a mix of 2000s, punk, and shoujo anime aesthetics. It’s a bit all over the place.”
Name: Dylan Ching
Age: 17
Occupation: Student
His fit: “My top is from Marks & Spencer, and my blazer is tailor-made. My trousers are from a small Chinese brand called Southfish, and my shoes are Clarks. My bag is from Prada, and my belt is from Calvin Klein.”
Inspiration behind his outfit: “Billie Eilish heavily influences my style. I love how she always wears baggy pieces, so all the trousers I own are loose-fitting – you’ll never catch me in skinny jeans. For a Laufey concert, the dress code feels quite classical, like attending an orchestra, so I had to suit up for Laufey. And of course, it wouldn’t be a true Laufey outfit without bows. The way I tie my bows was inspired by a suit remake I saw in a thrift store. I also chose a darker-coloured shirt to make the ribbon stand out.”
Favourite Laufey album: “Her album Bewitched holds a special place in my heart. Listening to it every day on my AirPods and then hearing it live – no words can describe how magical that experience was!”
His must-have item for any concert: “I’d say a pair of comfortable shoes. When it comes to concerts, a lot of people focus on looking good, but it’s important to have shoes that are comfy enough to walk and dance in.”

Age: 24
Occupation: Admin assistant
Her fit: “I got my dress from a store at Haji Lane called Kaeru Thrift (@kaeru.thrift on Instagram). My ribbon choker is self-made, and my rings are all thrifted. I purchased my shoes, socks, and bag from Taobao.”
Inspiration behind her outfit: “I was primarily inspired by her first album, Everything I Know About Love, and the nature and scenery depicted on the album cover. I wanted to represent the greenery and hills around her, which is where I drew inspiration for my outfit.”
Favourite Laufey song lyric: “It’s 'Wish I'd known that I had all that I could want / in our tiny apartment above the Chinese restaurant' from her song Above the Chinese Restaurant. I often find myself caught up in envy and comparing myself to others, focusing on what they have and what I lack. Sometimes I can be self-critical and fail to recognise how fortunate I am or to stop and cherish what I have in the moment. That lyric reminds me to take a moment to appreciate what I have before it's gone.”
Her must-have item for concerts: “A portable charger for sure. Especially if you're going to be filming videos on your phone, as it drains the battery quickly.”

Her fit: "My dress and earrings are from Taobao, and my shoes are thrifted from Jalan Jalan Japan in Malaysia. My bag is from Charles and Keith."
Inspiration behind her outfit: "Laufey often incorporates bows and pearls into her style and fashion. This influenced me, as well as other Laufey fans, to follow suit and dress in that style. My outfit is my take on the bows and pearls."
Favourite Laufey song: "Serendipity. It's actually a song I listen to on loop before I go to sleep. Her singing and the instrumentals are so calming. The song talks about how serendipity aligns with love and romance, like the fortuitous development of events that occur by chance. I think that's how I view love. In the song, she mentions that the 'everything happens for a reason' belief makes her naive, but I actually think this naivety is what makes falling in love fun. It allows us to learn from each occurrence."
Her must-have item for any concert: "Lipstick for sure. Hair bows are also essential for me."

His fit: “The blazer and shirt were thrifted. It can be hard to find pieces I like when I thrift, but these two made me proud. The pants are from a local brand in Vietnam, and the shoes are Adidas. The bag I’m carrying is one of my favourite items. It’s a Longchamp bag, and I added a teddy bear bag charm, which was a birthday gift, along with a pearl necklace that I made. I’m also wearing a tie that I transformed to give it a more coquette vibe.”
Inspiration behind his outfit: “The inspiration behind my outfit was quite amusing. I have never attended a prom before, and the vibe of the Laufey concert was dreamy and demure, so I dressed as if I were going to prom. I’ve seen many Lauvers (Laufey fans) around the world with their coquette aesthetic, so I added my own bow tie to lighten up my outfit.”
Favourite Laufey song: “To be honest, each song from the one and only Laufey holds a special place in my heart, but California and Me was there for me during my hardest times. The lyrics ‘holding back my tears, I couldn’t make you stay’ always make me hold back my tears every time I listen to this song. It resonates with my last relationship; I loved someone so much that I felt pain in my heart when they left me without any warning. Long story short, I overcame that and stopped being sad about it. However, every time this song plays, it brings back memories of the time I loved someone so deeply.”
His personal style: “My fashion style screams demure, classy, ready-to-wear, and embodies the phrase ‘simple but enough’. That’s how I like to style myself.”

Her fit: “My dress is a vintage piece from my aunt that I modified, and my jacket is thrifted. I got my stockings from Calzedonia, while my shoes and hair bow are from Shein. My bag is from Taobao, and my earrings are from Osewaya. I made my choker myself and attached a keychain from Studio Ghibli to my bag.”
Inspiration behind her outfit: “The inspiration behind my outfit is Laufey herself. I love her classic vibes and romantic style, and I personally adore her London looks, so my outfit is my take on that.”
Favourite Laufey song lyric: “I wish you health, and more than wealth, I wish you love,” from I Wish You Love. I think it's so sweet and lovely, and I always think of my friends when I listen to this song and the many ways they've wished me love.”
Her personal style: “I would say my personal style fluctuates, and I’m still honestly learning and searching for it. I would say it's either something really simple but cool or something really girly and whimsical.”

Her fit: “My top was thrifted at a London flea market, and my skirt was bought from my mother when she was in China. The label at the back of the skirt says Sweet Home. My bag was thrifted in Japan, my shoes are Adidas, and my necklace is from a random store in Chinatown.”
Inspiration behind her outfit: “I thought that pink and black would be cute colours to pair, and I felt that a long, poofy skirt would match the vibe for the concert!”
Favourite Laufey song: “It’s hard to choose, but my current favourite Laufey song would probably be Dreamer, because I always feel like I'm in a little musical when I listen to it.”
Why she likes concerts: “Seeing the artist perform, of course, but besides that, definitely seeing the outfits of everyone at concerts!”
Name: Alicia Skye Barber

Her Fit: “My dress is from a brand called Cherie Lou (@cherielouofficial on Instagram), and my stockings are from Shopee. I got my shoes from prettyFit and my bag from Cotton On. All of my accessories are handmade by my friends or family.”
Inspiration behind her outfit: “I was inspired by two words: vintage and Laufey.”
Favourite Laufey album: “For me, it would be Everything I Know About Love. I resonate with the songs on that album the most, and it’s helped me through some really hard times.”
Her personal style: “I just wear whatever I feel like that day. I don’t think I have a specific style that I stick to; I like to jump between different styles depending on my mood and the vibe of the day.”

Her fit: “I got my white top, pleated skirt, and belt from Taobao, and my ruffled skirt was thrifted from a store in Lucky Plaza. My jewellery is from a variety of places, including Taobao, Carousell, and some pieces were gifted by my mum and friends.”
Inspiration behind her outfit: “I was mainly inspired by seeing people on TikTok wearing white skirts, as well as Laufey’s album Everything I Know About Love, where she’s dressed in an all-white outfit. The ruffled white skirt I used for layering was a last-minute addition. Since my outfit felt a bit plain, I decided to spice it up with jewellery. My jewellery set was inspired by the maximalist style, which is all about bold, expressive pieces. It includes large, statement jewellery or layered stacks. I still need to get more jewellery, especially rings.”
Favourite Laufey album: “Her album Typical of Me. It’s the one that turned me into a fan. I usually listen to songs based on rhythms, but this album hits differently. The songs make me feel like a silly girl in a 12-episode romance drama.”
Her first concert experience: “This is actually my first concert. I usually skip concerts because the tickets can be expensive and I’m broke. But for my first concert, this was a wonderful experience. I loved the vibes, especially the sense of girlhood! Girls were going up to each other just to compliment each other's outfits – it was so sweet and cute. Everyone looked amazing in their bows, and some guys even showed up in suits with bows, which was absolutely adorable. I think we all slayed at the concert!”

Her fit: “My top is from an online store, though I can’t remember which one. My skirt and shoes are from Taobao, and my bag is my mother’s old Ralph Lauren. I’m wearing accessories, including a necklace from Ssaltythrifts (@ssaltythrifts on Instagram), bracelets from a vendor at the curated thrift store Nearest.Ten, and other bracelets from Bali. My rings are from my mother and various online stores."
Inspiration behind her outfit: “Since my style isn’t as ‘dainty’ or ‘coquette’, it was a bit challenging to find an outfit that suited the ‘Laufey vibe’. I went on Pinterest, looked through some of Laufey’s past outfits, and tried my best to recreate something similar while still incorporating my own style. Adding ribbons was essential to complete the look for a Laufey concert.”
Favourite Laufey song: “Either Above the Chinese Restaurant or Lovesick – I can’t choose between the two, but I love both the most.”
Her personal style: “I don’t have a definitive style, as I’m still exploring and experimenting. At the moment, I’d describe it as a mix of street style and Y2K. I also love wearing boots or pairing leather jackets with my outfits."
Name: Amadeus Joel Seah Sheng En
Age: 23

His fit: “My shirt is from Massimo Dutti, and my jacket is from Freakshow, which is a local brand. My trousers are thrifted from Stakeout, and my shoes are from Asos. My tote bag is from Shakespeare and Company, and my tie was a gift from a family friend.”
Inspiration behind his outfit: “This particular outfit is actually new and inspired by a video game called Disco Elysium. I’ve been playing it recently and noticed that some of my clothes were similar to the main character's outfit, so I wanted to see if I could make it work.”
Favourite Laufey song: “Let You Break My Heart Again is my favourite because it was my first introduction to Laufey. The combination of the orchestra and her vocals made me cry. The lyrics, although melancholic, felt like they pointed to something hopeful on the horizon.”
His personal style: “I’m not entirely sure because I think I’m still experimenting with my style. I quite like clothes with functionality or those that have a long history, as I appreciate knowing that someone once put a lot of thought and care into the garment and its appearance.”

Her fit: “My top is from Bershka, and my skirt is from a random store in Hanoi, Vietnam. My boots were gifted, and my scarf is from Midnight Move Korea. For accessories, my ribbon clip and bag are from Shopee, and my bag charms are from The Digicam Depository at Haji Lane.”
Inspiration behind her outfit: “I actually researched via TikTok to find out what people wore to Laufey's concert and saw a lot of ribbons and flowy skirts. Personally, I like a scarf and an off-shoulder moment because it adds a level of classiness that feels fitting for an orchestra-type setting! All the bag charms were bought impulsively right before the concert when I went to Solace Studios to use their Laufey photostrip frame. I have no regrets, though.”
Favourite Laufey song lyric: “You’ll grow up and grow so tough and charm them.” Honestly, it’s hard to pick my favourite line because the entire song Letter To My 13-Year-Old Self hits really close to home, especially the feeling of not belonging anywhere. Personally, I struggled with feeling enough and pretty growing up, and even to this day, especially since I have social anxiety. Looking back, I did the best I could, and I understand that feeling of wanting to tell your younger self you’re proud of her so she didn’t feel alone. Listening to this song also feels like I’m being reassured that present me is enough for future me too, and I’ll only continue to grow.”
Her must-have item for any concert: “Definitely platform shoes. As a short girl, my view is always blocked by taller concert-goers. The top of my head was even used as somebody’s elbow rest when they were filming at Kehlani’s concert, and I vowed to never show up at concerts in anything that doesn’t give me at least an extra five cm of height.”
Name: Az 'Kill' Zakirah

Her fit: “I’m wearing a gorgeous dress set from Megumi’s Room in Johor, along with the iconic bow in my hair. Although I love thrifting, sometimes having a great outfit set or two really comes in handy. This dress is beautiful with its lace and eyelet patterns. Pairing it with leg warmers helps balance the dress visually with my legs. As for my shoes, I stumbled across them at Charles & Keith one day and instantly fell in love. I also brought along a character doll from the game Genshin Impact that I got earlier today before the concert.”
Inspiration behind her outfit: “My inspiration came from a simple question. I had to cover an event for work, so the night before, I stood by my closet and asked myself, ‘How do I dress for work without stealing the spotlight, but also make it clear that I’m attending a Laufey concert?’ This is what I came up with.”
Favourite Laufey song lyric: “My favourite lyric from Laufey is from Slow Down. Even though it’s from the previous album, I really resonate with the line, ‘Though I’m getting older, my life has just begun.’ I’m at that age where seeing people get engaged and happily in love is becoming normal. But I’m fine as I am. I know I work hard and do things sincerely, and I think that’s a privilege in itself. With so much pressure from the world, it’s nice to reconnect with the simple joys we had when we were younger—like blowing bubbles, running through a field, or spontaneously deciding to cycle around the city in heels after work because it’s the more ‘scenic route’.”
Her personal style: “My style mainly draws from a Japanese subculture called Himekaji, but I believe that categorising things too strictly can limit the fun, as long as you respect the rules and don’t offend anyone. Growing up with a father who played rock music and a brother who loved metal, and being the youngest and only girl, I lean into a feminine style that makes me feel pretty. But nothing is stopping me from doing a complete 180 and dressing in all black while listening to Marilyn Manson. My style is always influenced by my emotions and mood.”

Her fit: “My top, bags, and hair clips are from Taobao, and my bottoms are thrifted. My shoes are Converse, and my necklace is Swarovski.”
Inspiration behind her outfit: “I was inspired by the combination of asymmetrical dresses over jeans, but since most of the asymmetrical dresses I found didn’t have my size, I opted for a top with a similar vibe! I also wanted to incorporate silver elements in my outfit to represent the Bewitched colour scheme.”
Favourite Laufey song lyric: “My favourite Laufey lyric would be, ‘I’m so sorry that they picked you last’ from the song Letter To My 13-Year-Old Self. I relate to it a lot, as I was often left out and made fun of for being chubby when I was younger. This song made me feel stronger for overcoming the challenges I faced while looking below the societal norms of beauty in my youth.”
On what made her a Laufey fan: “I became a Laufey fan during the Everything I Know About Love era. My sister first introduced me to Laufey by playing her songs randomly while we were studying. I asked, ‘Who’s the artist? I love her songs!’ From then on, I became a fan.”

Inspiration behind her outfit: “Laufey and her soft, mellow songs definitely inspired the white and flowy vibes of my outfit.”
Favourite Laufey song: “Let You Break My Heart Again is my first and favourite Laufey song. I really love the instrumentals in the song; it conveys so much pining and emotion, which I can unfortunately relate to.”
Her personal style: “I like to explore different styles. Recently, I have taken a liking to simple, feminine, and modern looks, such as long skirts and cute, fitted tops.”
