A special edition of our monthly style compendium: the recent Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert in Singapore.

Singapore is currently in the throes of a Taylor Swift frenzy, courtesy of The Eras Tour. This sold-out six-day spectacle runs from March 2 to 9, turning the National Stadium and its surroundings into a vibrant Swiftie convention. Fans from Singapore and the region, including the over 300,000 ticket holders and enthusiasts outside, are flaunting their finest Eras-inspired outfits. To soak in the excitement, our FEMALE People Camera was on the scene during Day One of the concert, and here's a glimpse of what we uncovered.
Name: Clara Li
Age: 29
Occupation: Full-time marketer and content creator
Her inspiration for her fit: "Look at me. The Reputation album obviously."
Her favourite era: "People used to think that your favourite era equates to your favourite album. But actually, it's not. My favourite album is 1989, but my favourite era is Reputation because I see it as who I am at my core. I love how she's just unbothered and fighting back. The whole aesthetic, like the black and silver, is how I usually dress outside of work or even to work."
How has Taylor Swift inspired her: "She has the ability to turn something negative into something fun, something that we all laugh at. I feel like in that way, how she approaches life from what we see through the media is kind of like ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ with her, and that is something that I live by. You can’t take things too seriously; sometimes it's just better to laugh it off. If you show you are not affected, nobody else can take that away from you."

Age: 27
Occupation: Freelance creative
Her fit: "The cowboy hat is from Shopee, and I hand-painted it myself, incorporating elements from every Taylor Swift era. The T-shirt is from Uniqlo, featuring a design I created by combining lyrics from Karma (a Taylor Swift song) with characters inspired by the video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. The glitter dress is from @sunsette.vintage on Instagram, and the shoes are from Lazada. The tote bag is a piece of Sabrina Carpenter's merchandise."
Her inspiration for her fit: "I'm a Bejeweled cowgirl! Inspired by Cowboy Like Me from the Evermore album and Bejeweled from the Midnights album, the bejewelled part is incorporated into my skirt and makeup."
Her favourite era: "I absolutely love the Reputation because the emotional depth of this era makes it, in my opinion, her best era."
How did her love for Tay Tay start: "It all began with the You Belong with Me music video, and I fell in love with the lyrics. She is one of the greatest songwriters ever. I've learned many new words from her songs, and I appreciate the concepts and storytelling. That's why I love her work, both before and after discovering You Belong with Me. I love her songs so much; many of them resonate with me."

Age: 31

Her inspiration for her fit: "Today, I'm going for a mix of the Reputation and Red eras; a little bit of both for a blank and red kind of vibe."
How big of a Swiftie is she: "I feel like I cannot compare myself to some of the other Swifties here. I am definitely one, but I feel like I am at 80 per cent, while some of them are at 200 per cent."

Her fit: "I happen to own a clothing line, so I personally crafted my entire outfit using my brand’s tailor. I sourced the materials on my own at the fabric shop and faced the challenge of finding the perfect, bright, and unique shade of orange for the top. Opting for satin materials for both the top and skirt not only provides enhanced reflection in the light but also adds an extra touch of elegance to the overall look. After giving the materials to my tailor and making a couple of adjustments, my outfit was good to go! The whole process took a month."
Her inspiration for her fit: "Taylor's red carpet look for the 2016 58th Grammys award."
How did her love for Tay Tay start: "Back in elementary school, I stumbled upon her picture on a teen magazine cover. Intrigued by her makeup, I wondered if she was a rock singer. A quick search on my computer revealed a different musical vibe. Teardrops on My Guitar from the Debut album instantly captured my heart and I've been a proud Swiftie since then."
Her favourite era: "Definitely 1989! I’m a hardcore pop girlie. The entire era, from the songs to her short hairstyles, has me hooked. I’ve watched the 1989 tour concert movie countless times, especially obsessing over the Sydney version of the Blank Space performance!"

Her fit: "The dress and sash were actually from a local brand I found on Shopee Indonesia. The white ankle boots are from Rubi. As for the crown, my best friend lent it to me. (The perks of having a makeup artist bestie!)"
Her inspiration for her fit: "I'm dressed in one of her songs from the Lover era, which is Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince. Not only because I love the song, but also because the Lover era is characterized by pink. Since pink is my favourite colour, I decided to go with that concept."
How did her love for Tay Tay start: "I started liking her music during the Fearless era. I just love how she tells stories with her music. There's so much talent coming from her brain. She always comes up with hard and unique English words that I can't even think about. I didn't even know those kinds of words existed. She's a mastermind indeed."
Her favourite era: "Definitely Speak Now era. I don't know why, maybe like I've just easily clicked with all of her songs on that album. But I love every eras though!"
Name: Jarrett Lee
Age: 24
Occupation: Business student
His fit: "The shirt and shorts are from Uniqlo. The jewels were purchased from an art and craft store at People’s Park Centre. I bought various jewels in different shapes, sizes, and colours. I then used a glue gun to stick them one by one onto the outfit."
The inspiration for his fit: "The outfit inspiration comes from the Bejeweled music video. I was searching through TikTok for outfit ideas, but unfortunately, 90 per cent of them were for females, making it hard for me to pull off. However, I came across a guy who created the bejewelled outfit using denim, and I got inspired. So, I decided to DIY my outfit, and it turned out very nice. I was satisfied with the result."
How long has he been a Swiftie: "It all started 10 years ago when I began listening to a few of her singles, and I gradually became hooked on her songs. I love that her songwriting is so relatable to my life, and she has been a role model in my life and for many other fans with her work ethics and personality. I also love that Taylor has been very adventurous with her music and doesn’t just stick to one genre that makes her comfortable. That's why every era has a distinct sound to it."
His favourite era: "My favourite era would be Folklore, especially the 'eras' tour. Folklore is particularly special as it presents a sound that we hadn't heard from Taylor before. Yet, when she sings folk, it feels like it was built for her. With the album released during the pandemic, all I could do was listen to it at home, and the album delves into fantasy stories. It makes you think about what it must be like to be outside again, and it was a comforting album for me. Each song, from start to finish, felt like reading a book or a story."

Her inspiration for her fit: "My outfit is inspired by the Reputation and the Midnights eras. The jacket represents the Karma jacket, and the black top and skirt represent the Reputation era."
How did her love for Tay Tay start: "My admiration for Taylor Swift began during my high school years when I first saw her on a music channel on TV, MYX, singing Teardrops on My Guitar. There are so many reasons why I love Taylor Swift – her relatable lyrics and captivating storytelling. Her songs resonate with me on a personal level, providing comfort and inspiration during various stages of my life."
Her favourite era: "All of it. Choosing a favourite Taylor Swift era is tough, but if I had to pick, it would be a tie between Fearless and Reputation. Fearless represents my teenage years and reminds me of that time of innocence and growth. On the other hand, Reputation resonated with me during my transition to adulthood and maturity. The album helped me voice what I was feeling at that time and navigate through the complexities of growing up. So, if I had to choose, I'd say both Fearless and Reputation hold a special place in my heart for different reasons."

Her fit: "The star of the show is really the shimmery halter neck tie-back dress with a waterfall skirt from a French company called Sundress. It specialises in anything sparkly, shimmery, and comfy."
Her inspiration for her fit: "My inspiration is from Taylor's 1989 era, with a touch of the Lover era for the headgear."
How did her love for Tay Tay start: "Hahaha, my age will be revealed here. I got into her when I was 14 years old, hearing Love Story as the very first Taylor Swift song. I fell in love with it and just went headfirst into being a Fearless fan from there. I just turned 31 which means I've been a stan for 17 years, so it's been a long time coming."
Her favourite era: "Fearless because of the nostalgia during my secondary school days, is always a classic and banger) and of course 1989 because I just love the vibe it gives."
How has Taylor Swift inspire her: "For me, it's always to be a kind and sincere person, no matter what level you're at — income, fame, et cetera. Take the time to appreciate the small and little things around you, like how she treats her fans and loved ones. Also, don't back down when trouble walks in, and sometimes you really just gotta shake it off and get back up again in your new era."

Her fit: "My white top, thrifted from a while back, is paired with a blue iridescent skirt repurposed from my performance outfit. My black boots are from Dr. Martens, and my bracelets and rings are gifts from friends. Additionally, my shimmer tights, 'mirror' ball earrings, heart-shaped sunglasses, and necklace are all from Shopee."
Her outfit inspiration: "My outfit inspiration is the 1989 (Taylor’s Version) album cover colour scheme — white and blue. My top was inspired by the long-sleeved white top worn by her in her Blank Space music video, which was the first music video of hers that I watched. My skirt was inspired by the blue glittery skirt Taylor wore in 2015 at the Rock In Rio Festival. As for my shimmer tights, they are inspired by the Capezio Shimmery tights that Taylor always wears at her shows. Regarding my accessories, they represent a mix of her different eras, mainly Lover, 1989, Reputation, and Folklore."
Her favourite era: "I think my favourite era is Folklore. It showcases Taylor trying out a new genre of indie folk music, which makes this album even more unique than it already is. Being very poetry-based, the lyrics behind every track are more meaningful and soulful, enhancing the overall meaning behind every track in Folklore!"
How did her love for Tay Tay start: "Back in 2014, I remember coming across her Blank Space music video on YouTube, and since then, she has been one of my go-to artists to listen to daily. I really admire her creativity and songwriting skills! As someone who enjoys literature and poetry, I find excitement in analysing her cryptic lyrics. Especially in Folklore and Evermore, her use of literary devices and references makes listening to the songs in these albums even more enjoyable!"

His fit: "The top is custom-made, and the bottoms are from a TikTok shop. The shoes are from Shein. The earrings are from a secondhand market and NooYoo, and the hair clips are from Shopee."
The inspiration for his fit: "The entire outfit is inspired by Lover. I wanted this look to be sweet but not overly so. The top part is a glamorous pink, decorated with ribbons, and I added a pink corset to enhance the sweetness. For the bottom part, I chose black pants with black boots to create a contrast with the pink, giving the entire outfit a balance between sweetness and a touch of attitude. I aimed for a look that isn't overly sweet, like a virgin girl, but rather has a bit of a bold and confident edge."
His favourite era: "I have two favourites, and they're Reputation and Lover. Reputation reminds us of girls and girl power. It touches and impresses my queer heart. As for Lover, this song gives me positive energy. I used to be a person who didn't care about anything, didn't give an f**k about anything. After listening to this song, it changed me into a positive person. It's like transforming from a viper into a precious butterfly, with the world covered in flowers."
How did his love for Tay Tay start: "I first got hooked by the Reputation music video, especially Look What You Made Me Do, and have been following her since then. I love her singing skills and talent. She is exceptionally skilled in writing and producing songs."
