Legendary Japanese animation firm Studio Ghibli has been experiencing a cultural renaissance in recent years (who else is waiting for Hayao Miyazaki's final film to release in Singapore?), and their latest collaborator is Levi's.

To be specific, the denim label is zeroing in on Princess Mononoke, the 1997 epic historical fantasy film and one of Studio Ghibli's more esoteric works that tells the story of warring humans, animals and gods set in 14th century Japan; a visually and emotionally stirring plea for living in balance with nature.

The Levi’s x Princess Mononoke collection ($49.90-$289.90) comprises a range of accessories and apparel that sport motifs and characters from the film. For example, the darker indigo pieces feature the cute tree spirits known as kodama, while protagonists like Prince Ashitaka and the wolf-raised San (who is the titular Princess Monnoke) appear on various accessories and T-shirts.

It's set to launch online and exclusively at Levi’s Ion Orchard store on August 10, though Levi’s Red Tab members will receive early access to the collection on August 8 via the brand's website. Below, some of our favourite pieces from the collection's lookbook.
