Meet The Female Collective: Trishna Goklani

Sure, they’ve got style, but they’ve also got the ideas, body of work and point of view to set themselves apart from the #influencer crowd – and shake up the local creative scene. Meet Singapore It girl and fashion journalism student Trishna Goklani, one of six new members in the Female Collective.

While we don’t believe that one’s Insta fame equates to how stylish or trendsetting one is, it’s hard not to be impressed by 22-year-old Trishna Goklani’s 16.9k-strong following. Photogenic with deep-set eyes, wavy honey brown locks, and a plush pout she’s known to paint a deep plum, her feed is punctuated with OOTDs of off-duty casuals worn with the panache of someone who knows and loves fashion.

Don’t dismiss her as a social media star though. Since leaving a full-time styling stint at a fashion magazine, she’s been working on test shoots with some of Singapore’s most exciting Gen Z talents. Recent projects – all collaborations with indie photography darling Lenne Chai – include a quirky Gucci editorial at The Projector, as well as a dreamy Lana Del Rey-inspired shoot of models in prairie dresses done underwater.

These help keep her creative juices going as she waits to embark on her next adventure: studying fashion journalism at the London College of Fashion. Why would someone like her want to pursue this “old school” craft? Like a true Gen Z, she says: “Communication is so important in fashion these days.”
