The thought of having 18K rose gold, white gold and yellow gold, hand-engraved, beaded, and shaped like flowers in your jewellery, all at once, sounds like you need a lot of chutzpah to carry off. But Soo Kee Jewellery has a palatable take on the look. Its Gold Couture collection ($739-$1,969) – as the second half of its name suggests – takes handcrafted work seriously. The rose petals on the range of rings, necklace and pendants are all handmade and engraved, with each petal studded with gold beads. The finishing touch is the baubles of gold in the centre of each flower. At one glance, they shine and look like precious gem stones. But in actual fact, each piece is made of pure gold that has been faceted.
