Young Photographer Michal Pudelka is the Next Big Name to Know

The one name to know today: young photographer Michal Pudelka, who's under 25, been on the scene for only about four years, and has already scored Valentino's S/S '15 campaign. 

Bratislava-born Michal Pudelka has quickly become one of my favourite photographers – his pictures remind me of Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides, a film that I can watch again and again. 

Same dreamy quality; same bluish, retro-influenced colours; same focus on girls idling away – except that they look like they’re doing so by choice, unlike in the movie (just watch it already if you haven’t). Every image is romantic, youthful and a little bit playful. 

For Valentino’s S/S ’15 campaign, seen here in W magazine, Pudelka had free rein and chose to shoot in the woods and beaches of Tuscany, Italy. 

This guy’s going to get bigger, and I can’t wait to see what he’ll do next.
