If anyone needs proof of how the ballerina trend (pretty ballet flats are all the rage now) will peak next season, then Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli delivered one strong message last night at Valentino.
Backstage, the mood board for the design duo shows intricate tutus, en pointe shoes and with dance greats like Martha Graham and the Ballets Russes as muses. On stage, the idea gets translated into an ethereal legion of models in blush dresses , tulle, glittering evening wear and their romantic take on what dancers dress in for rehearsals.
