Dior's Holiday Collection Has A Lot Of Butterflies
A winged wonderland at Dior this Christmas.
By Keng Yang Shuen,
You've seen Dior stage its momentous Resort 2024 show in Mexico City this May, and it was a beautiful collection inspired by Mexico and one that paid tribute to many aspects of the country's culture, including its most prominent artist, Frida Kahlo.
Dior creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri alluded to the seminal artist in various ways - for instance, the show was staged at Mexico City's Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso (Kahlo's alma mater) - but most prominently through a key motif in Kahlo's paintings: butterflies. Echoing the Resort 2024 collection, Dior's holiday offerings sees the delicate insect coming to life in shades of white and gold across many of the maison's key accessories and apparel - our favourite pieces below:
Chokers don't come much prettier than this Metamorphose one that sees a butterfly perched delicately on your throat.
This is the bag to snag from the brand's Resort 2024 collection: the new Miss Dior is an elegant number that can be worn both by hand or crossbody with its attached chain. It's positioned as a more youthful sibling to the timeless Lady Dior bag, and it comes with two internal compartments and a convenient rear patch pocket. Similar to the Lady Dior, the Miss Dior is embellished with the distinctive alphabet trinkets, but with a unique twist – these charming additions dangle specifically from the lock closure.
You can never go wrong with the ultra-functional Book tote and this season, it comes fully embroidered with the new Butterfly Around The World motif, which was designed by regular Dior collaborator Pietro Ruffo.

These ultra-feminine earrings perfectly capture the house's signature lady-like energy.
Tied elegantly around the neck or as a chic way to jazz up existing accessories, the scarf is one of the one of the most versatile gifts - this one comes with Dior's elaborate Butterfly Around the World print designed by artist Pietro Ruffo.
When your love for butterflies manifests into an actual bag shaped after the insect with vivid, three-dimensional details.
The Lady D-Lite is the more free-spirited sister to the iconic Lady Dior and this one is rendered extra-pretty with the Butterfly Around The World motif embroidered on.
A treat for those who love both butterflies and astrology - this bag sports the Butterfly Zodiac motif by Pietro Ruffo.
