FKA Twigs' highly anticipated third album - titled Eusexua - looks likely to unleash a feral, rave-ready mood.
Two years - that’s how long we’ve gone without new music from the quirky and artful singer, FKA twigs. After a devastating hack that leaked eighty-five demo tracks last year, the singer decided to step away from making new music for a while. While she's indulged fans with features outside of music, like a starring role in the movie the Crow alongside Bill Skarsgard, fans still mourned the loss of new music from the singer. Now, two years after her last release (the critically acclaimed mixtape CAPRISONGS) the singer has returned with a new LP titled EUSEXUA.
Pronounced “you-sex-you-uh”, the album’s title is a portmanteau of “euphoria” and “sexual”, created by the singer to describe an all-consuming, euphoric motion. So far, twigs has released the titular track Eusexua along with a music video over the past week, with the full album to release on January 24, 2025.
With a pulsating beat reminiscent of the techno rave music that inspired the album, twigs purrs on the titular track: “Like flying capsized free, I see you are Eusexua," building to a drop that feels like a release - true to the transcendent state of 'eusexua' that twigs describes.
The music video critiques the mundane repetitiveness of a corporate 9 to 5 job and its overdependence on technology.
