The star of the upcoming Denis Villeneuve film caught the attention of style watchers with his unexpected choice of accessories: vintage brooches from the house of Cartier. But it is also the casual and effortless way he pinned these style accoutrements that really showed his finesse as one of young Hollywood's bona fide style risk-takers.
Cartier announced the news of Timothee Chalamet's appointment as the 'Friend of the House' during the occasion of the Dune premiere at the Venice International Film Festival.
For a photocall in the daytime, the 25-year-old actor paired his Haider Ackermann jacket with a duo of archival designs. The other was a platinum pin from 1913 adorned with diamonds and pearls.

For his red carpet appearance for Dune's premiere, Chalamet continued his style hat trick with a vintage brooch with studded onyx cabochons from 2004 on his cuffs. It's a subtle blink-and-you'll-miss-it touch that complemented his sci-fi inspired black outfit by Haider Ackermann.

It's important to note, too, that this Venice outing was not the first time that Chalamet has toyed with the brooch. Remember how he paired a brooch with his Prada boiler suit at last year's Oscars red carpet, like some sort of badge of honour? The choice of brand: a vintage Cartier.
Now that's how you represent.
