Gemma Chan Just Bagged Ambassador Status at Cartier And We’re Obsessed

Crazy Rich Asians actress and UNICEF UK ambassador Gemma Chan is about to level up her social calendar—big time. Cartier has officially announced the British actress as its latest ambassador and we’re just so thrilled for her. Chan was last seen in Singapore during a dazzling High Jewellery event that saw her wearing the delicate Molinae necklace and earrings from the Nature Sauvage collection. So what does this mean for Chan? For starters, she’s already attending events thrown by Cartier, like the launch of the 115-piece high jewellery collection, En Équilibre, in Stockholm—and soon, to be more.

In a press statement, Chan shares, “I am delighted to join the Maison Cartier as an ambassador and honoured to mark the announcement at this exceptional display of creativity and savoir-faire in Stockholm. I have long appreciated the beauty and finesse of the Maison’s creations, and I look forward to continuing this exciting collaboration.”

While we're all hype for her next appearance on the red carpet, the actress has turned her hand to producing on top of acting in movies. She is currently developing and starring in a biopic about the legendary Chinese-American actress Anna May Wong, executive producing alongside Working Title Films. She will also serve as an executive producer on Amazon MGM Studios TV series, Rise of the Empress.

Also, low-key, the tea has been spilling (thanks to Henry Golding!) that a couple of Crazy Rich Asian cast members might return for the TV series adaptation based on author Kevin Kwan’s books. If the rumours are true, then perhaps we might catch a glimpse of Chan in some gorgeous pieces from Cartier’s collection that’s befitting to the star.
