Singapore Brand State Property Makes Beautiful Minimalist Jewellery

Established last October, the local jewellery brand specialises in sleek, sculptural accessories that go perfectly well with minimalist ensembles (check out Singapore label Rye for clean, streamlined separates).

Who's behind it

It's founded by Afzal Imram and Lin Ruiyin (above), both of whom have some serious design chops behind them. Imran’s background is in industrial design, while Lin is a trained jeweller from the famed Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Together, they also run local creative agency Proper People.

Why know it

There’s nothing dainty about State Property. Instead, expect to find clean, solid pieces of jewellery that will anchor your look. As co-founder Lin puts it: “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

Forming the collection are sleek sterling silver cuff bracelets plated in 18K white gold and black rhodium; elegant earrings that play with humble, but interesting materials such as acrylic and bauxite ore; and rings with bold shapes that don’t make your fingers look all chunky.

The brand also prides itself on its meticulous craftsmanship: Designs, which range from $390 to $650, are created entirely by hand in Singapore. It also offers a bespoke service for a personal touch.

What to expect for its next collection: It will explore a lighter aesthetic later this year with a more playful collection featuring pieces crafted with coloured gemstones and precious materials.
