The dress code of this year's Met Gala ball honouring Rei Kawakubo might have been avant-garde. But save for model Joan Smalls' lip ring and Anna Cleveland's ear cuffs by Ana Khouri, the attendees stuck to the standard fare: diamonds, diamonds and more diamonds, with the occasional coloured gemstone thrown in. Which is not necessarily a bad thing because diamonds never go out of style, and certainly go with any dress code.
