Conceptual Chinese Designer Chen Peng Creates An Upcycled Collection For Moncler
When old becomes new again.
It’s not often that a brand gets one of the top accolades when it comes to sustainable practices.

For Moncler, it won the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) World and Europe for three consecutive years. This year, it got the highest score (89/100) on the ‘Textiles, Apparel & Luxury Goods’ industry according to the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2021, as of November 12.

For the uninitiated, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index is considered the gold standard for corporate sustainability on a global level.

Following that announcement, Moncler revealed its latest upcycling project with conceptual visionary Chen Peng. Using a circular economy approach, he created a capsule collection using classic old stock jackets but elevated them with new details to give these outerwear a new lease of life.

Known for his gender-neutral, one-size-fits-all ethos, Chen Peng lends his Midas touch to four jackets, including a glossy cherry-red nylon-lacque Bady jacket that’s made over with a surrealist wink, and a cobalt Badenne jacket that comes alive with new moto-mod checkerboard yoke and contrast stitching. Last but not least, two re-commissioned Gary puffer jackets also gets a postmodern remix.
