Singapore’s food scene has seen its fair share of trends: banana pudding matcha lattes, loaded bagels, basque cheesecakes...and 2026 just imported its first food trend straight from South Korea: the Dubai chewy cookie. It’s the ultimate dessert for the chronically online: a South Korean style mochi coated with a layer of chocolate powder, filled with pistachio paste, tahini and kataifi (yes, the same ingredients found in the TikTok viral Dubai chocolate bar). Chewy, crunchy and decadent.

The dessert (also known as dujjonku) first went viral on South Korean social media and quickly took off after Ive’s Jang Wonyoung posted a series of Instagram stories about it. Now, the cookie has landed in Singapore and is swiftly making its rounds on social media. Below, our five favourite spots to try the viral Korean Dubai chewy cookie in Singapore.

The decadent chewy cookie comes in the classic and matcha version (from $7 per piece). For those with a true sweet-tooth, Syip has also concocted matching drinks: a chocolate version topped with classic Dubai chewy cookies, and a matcha version with a matcha Dubai chewy cookie ($9 each).

Why we love it: When it comes to bakes, B For Bagel knows their stuff. Best known for their soft and chewy stuffed bagels, this bakery’s take on the Dubai chewy cookie really emphasises on the ‘chewy.’ All bakes are freshly made in-house, and their Dubai chewy cookies are no exception. Going for $8 a piece, their cookies are all about that mouth-watering chocolate pull — a soft and marshmallow-like exterior, packed with crunchy Dubai chocolate filling. Chef’s kiss.

Why we love it: What happens when a French patisserie takes on a viral South Korean food trend? She Sells Seashells is best known for their specialty of madeleines and financiers. Their Dubai chewy cookies ($7.50 per piece) are rich, nutty, and have that essential crunch from the chocolate filling. What sets it apart, though, is how balanced its flavours are. Basically, it’s perfect for those who prefer their desserts “not too sweet.”

Routine Fusion Cafe & Bar

Why we love it: When trying a South Korean food trend, perhaps a South Korean bakery is the best way to go. Opened in 2023 by a Korean entrepreneur, Routine is a fusion cafe and bar that’s best known for their bingsu and frozen beer. Their take on the Dubai chewy cookie is bold, with slightly bitter chocolate that really compliments the sweet filling. It also has the perfect filling-to-marshmallow ratio, so each bite has the perfect amount of flavour and texture.
