Mandai Wildlife Reserve is already home to five wildlife parks, a couple of romantic restaurants (candlelit dinner in a cave, anyone?), and a new hotel where you can sleep in a treehouse pod. Its latest new opening? An immersive nature-themed indoor attraction, called Exploria, one of the largest of its kind – not just in Singapore but also in Southeast Asia.

Opening on March 3, 2026, Exploria will whisk you off on a journey across five wondrous worlds, taking you from the prehistoric era, to the icy Arctic, and the deep seas. Take this as your gateway to exploring nature in the sort of depth you typically wouldn’t have access to – minus extreme weather conditions and roughness of terrain. Here’s a guide to Exploria at Mandai Wildlife Reserve so you’ll know what to look forward to ahead of its opening.

Start with a planetary light and sound show at Our Interconnected World

The adventure at Exploria starts at Our Interconnected World, the dark glowing “nucleus” of the space. At the centre of it all stands a pulsating four-metre LED globe, which reacts with light movement based on visitors’ actions. Make sure you stick around for The Planet Awakens, a mesmerising light and sound show that will have you all starry-eyed.

Explore five interactive themed zones

Slap on an RFID wristband to unlock interactive surprises across five themed worlds, personalise your experience, and collect virtual medals and gems as you go along, which you can later exchange for real-life prizes such as collectible pins.

At Exploria’s Micro Worlds, feel yourself “shrink” in size as you enter the territory of the tiniest, oft-overlooked organisms: worms, ants, bees, slime, mould and the like. You’ll get a detailed, close-up glimpse of these life forms, and even get the chance to examine microscopic creatures like plankton and tardigrades which are virtually invisible to the naked eye.

Realm of the Giants

Next, go big as you travel back in time through four prehistoric eras at Realm of the Giants, where you’ll roam the lands of dinosaurs. Things are made extra hyper-realistic with looming sculptures of the T-rex, giant ground sloth, and more – all brought further to life with AR technology. Don’t miss The Giants Show, an eight-minute, 360-degree spectacle with 4D effects like mist and movement.

Infinite Wonderland

There’s much wildlife teeming in lush rainforests and colourful coral reefs, and that’s what Infinite Wonderland highlights. As you descend from canopy, to cave, to underwater realm, spot different animals like the orangutan and Malayan tiger, and witness the magical sight of coral spawning before your eyes.

World of Darkness

We hope you’re not afraid of the dark, because in World of Darkness, you’ll be navigating your way through dim caves, tunnels, and “waters”, while learning how animals like the lesser horseshoe bat, Cuban boa, and Mexican blind cavefish survive in ill-lit habitats. This culminates in an ethereal projection of bioluminescence, which glows and transforms as you reach its vicinity.

Brace yourselves before entering this zone, as you’re about to be thrown into extreme conditions like the scorching desert, freezing Arctic, and high altitudes with thinner atmosphere. We’re talking challenging temperatures ranging from 4°C to 40°C, gusty winds going up to 70km/hour, vibrating movements, and accompanying soundbites that make things all the more lifelike. This is paired with real-life footage of wild fauna responding to their respective habitats – including migratory cranes soaring at great altitudes, and chameleons thriving in the desert.

How to get to Exploria at Mandai Wildlife Reserve

This is the same side of Mandai Wildlife Reserve that leads to River Wonders, Night Safari, and the Singapore Zoo. Rainforest Wild Asia and Bird Paradise are at the opposite end, at Mandai Wildlife West, so make sure you select the right location when booking your cab or alighting from the Mandai Shuttle.
