Since opening in July 2019, Koma at Marina Bay Sands has always been a real vibe.
Yes, there’s the iconic 20-metre-long passageway at its entrance — inspired by the torii gates of Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari shrine and the backdrop to countless Instagram moments. Make your way through it, and many make a beeline for its cinematic main dining room — so glam, Taylor Swift visited not once, but twice.

Looking for an ultra-stylish bar in Singapore with inventive cocktails to match? There’s Koma’s bar, located just beyond that torii gate-style tunnel (read: the sophisticated yet cosy lounge area before you hit the main dining room). And if it’s not already one of your regular hangs, here’s a new reason to make it one: its refreshed Japanese-inspired cocktail menu.
The New Wave of Japanese Cocktails at Koma
Koma’s cocktails bring Japanese-inspired flavours to life with a fresh, playful twist you’ll want to snap (and sip).
Combining artisanal ingredients and craftsmanship – and our love for all things Japanese – Japanese cocktails have become an increasingly popular part of Singapore’s nightlife culture. Now, the bar at Koma has raised the bar with its latest lineup of delightfully playful, often surprising concoctions that pay homage to Japan’s rich folklore and history.
The Heavenly Match-A at Koma: bourbon, umami strawberry puree, and matcha powder – a cocktail twist on the trending strawberry matcha latte.
Take the cocktail dubbed Heavenly Match-A, for example. A bold, velvety twist on the classic whisky sour, this bourbon-based drink is finished with umami strawberry puree and a generous dusting of matcha. The result: a clever cocktail lover’s alternative to those strawberry matcha lattes that are all the hype right now (and equally pretty, with its soft pink hue and earthy green tea powder “snow”).
That same creativity, camera-ready aesthetic and celebration of ingredients synonymous with Japan can be found in every drink on Koma’s new menu – whether cocktail or mocktail (of course, Koma at Marina Bay Sands caters to the sober-curious too).
A Bar That’s More Than Just Drinks
Adding to its hidden gem atmosphere are the breathtaking interiors – the work of the celebrated American architecture firm Rockwell Group, which also designed the main dining room.
A 2.5-metre-high Japanese bell is the show-stopping centrepiece of Koma’s intimate, design-forward bar at Marina Bay Sands
Step into Koma’s bar and lounge area, and you’re immediately greeted by a resplendent 2.5-metre-high Japanese bell hanging from the ceiling above the bar. A centrepiece from day one, it still never fails to drop jaws and is as Insta-famous as Koma’s torii gate-lined entrance.
The rest of the space is super-stylish yet intimate and inviting; the soaring orange wooden grid structure suspended overhead echoes those torii gates and adds a subtle touch of drama. This is the kind of bar that compels one to dress up and savour the fun, deep flavours and artistry that go into a finely crafted cocktail – whether you’re flying solo or with your closest friends.
To that, we say kanpai!
