The Newest Clash de Cartier Jewellery Pieces Are Stacked and Bolder Than Ever
The latest additions to the jewellery line are thicker, more sculptural and more textured.
Cartier elevated the pop-punk aesthetic with the launch of the Clash de Cartier collection in 2019 which saw it putting a luxurious spin on stud jewellery with its artistic use of gold and diamonds. Three years on and with plenty of iterations later, the Maison welcomes the addition of six amped-up rose gold designs that double down on that formula.

To recap, the Clash de Cartier reimagines the stud-like picot, a conical shape introduced to the Maison’s creations in the early 20th century and used as a recurring motif by its legendary former creative director Jeanne Toussaint from 1933 to the '70s.
The picot stud was featured in Cartier's creations in the early 20th century and appeared extensively throughout the '30s to '70s.
Accompanying the picot motifs are the backbone of the Clash de Cartier collection: the four-sided clou carre studs. For this new six-piece outing, the clou carre detail appears for the first time in a double row arrangement for a pair of earrings and ring which gives these pieces a stacked effect.

Meanwhile, a ring, a pair of earrings and a flexible bracelet and a flexible necklace juxtapose volume and textures by combining smooth shiny black onyx beads with gold picot studs and diamonds for something that is part architectural and part rocker chic.
