Gucci’s Multicolour Collection Is A Treat For Bored Eyes
This new capsule offers a fun and spirited technicolour take on monogrammed logomania.
By Gordon Ng,
Logomania, however you feel about it, is here to stay. It may wax and wane in popularity, but these days it’s a perennial offering from luxury fashion brands.
The latest update in this category is Gucci’s GG Multicolour collection of technicolour brights. This capsule collection, which launches in stores and online on April 23, is a cheery celebration of the brand’s GG monogram pattern – a pattern first created in the 1960s and which remains one of the most recognisable, even in the brand's 100th year in business.
Bright, key shades of pink and blue lead this GG Multicolour collection, available on bags like the GG Marmont either monochromatically or as a colour-blocked mix.
In this Multicolour collection, the GG monogram has been reimagined through a lens of bright and vivid colour. Key colours of green, blue, pink, yellow and orange are applied on the GG motif in canvas across a range of ready-to-wear, bags, shoes and accessories.
You’ll find this GG Multicolour treatment on some of the brand’s most popular bags and shoe styles like the Marmont, Rhyton and Tennis 1977 sneakers. And if you can’t choose a favourite colour, good news: the collection includes colour-blocked mashups of all the key shades.
