On a stage that took over a month to construct, Hermes presented its Resort 2027 range – a continuation act of its Fall Winter 2026 collection – in Bel Air, Los Angeles. This season, artistic director Nadege Vanhee trades the French house’s customary equestrian-inflected minimalism with romanticism: softness around the edges, fluidity in movement, and freedom from restraint. Here, clothes aren’t simply status makers; they’re a celebration of movement, artistry, and softness in strength.

“Silhouettes on the Horizon” reads as the collection’s name, and just as poetic were the garments that danced with languid fabrics and vivid colours. The starting point? A pale yellow dress. With its airy fabric and fluid construction, it felt at home against the scenic view of Los Angeles, while leather boots along with a power jacket and belted waist grounded the look to a soft yet powerful feminine energy.

Vanhee took inspiration from her own personal narrative, one that was fixated on her childhood obsession with ballet. On the runway, it translated into one-piece jumpsuits in sequinned butter yellow or turquoise with trousers that flared to reveal a sliver of leg, riding the line between sultry and gentle.

There were also the power suits with cinched waist fastenings in punchy red, teal, beige, and black. The same precision Hermes brings to its leather goods appeared on the tailored coats, a cocktail number made of the same supple material, and dresses in silky satin – ruched at the bust and billowed at the hip to create a perennial romantic silhouette. Meanwhile, a red leather jacket was adorned with studs and key-shaped patches, with a similar but more punkish vest appearing in black.

While the clothes played with a more romantic silhouette, the accessories stood out as defining elements that felt categorically Hermes. Tall riding boots completed almost all of the looks, while the bags offered both design and function. The Birkins easily stole the eyes of many Hermes fans, but the new Le Petit Sac might just be the brand’s next most sought-after bag among its expansive portfolio of hard-to-get pieces.

Hermes Resort 2027 felt natural with its silhouettes that struck a sense of ease and liberation, echoing the expansive, open spirit that Los Angeles so readily embodies.
