At State Property, A New Jewellery Range For Men

The Singapore label brings an elevated sensibility to men's jewellery.

Singapore jewellery label State Property's singular designs have occupied a unique niche between art, design and jewellery since they first launched in 2015. Their modernist sensibilities have since gained a global audience, with the likes of Nicole Kidman, Michelle Obama and Lady Gaga taking a shine to the label in recent years.

Now if you're a male admirer of the label, there's some cause for cheer: State Property has just announced a men's range titled Homme. According to State Property founders Lin Ruiyin and Afzal Imram, they've been steadily facing increased demand from male clientele over the past two years, many commenting on their lack of elevated options in the market.

State Property's new Homme line should satiate male admirers of the label's sleek, sculptural lines.

It's an astute and timely move; menswear has clearly undergone a seismic shift lately, with traditional notions and depictions of masculinity being challenged and dismantled on designer runways, social media, or on the red carpet, with faces like Timothee Chalamet nonchalantly piling on jewellery beyond predictable options like cufflinks.

Besides which, we're of the opinion that State Property's sleek, geometric aesthetic has long had an appeal that cuts across the gender aisle, so it's not really that much of a leap. The Homme range features everything from rings (with and without gemstones) to earrings sold as a pair or solo.

Look no further for an elevated take on the trendy pearl necklace.

If you're a fan of the label, some of the designs will look familiar; Lin states that they're tweaks of existing pieces - the pendants for example, are available in longer chain lengths (22” on top of the usual 16”) to accommodate men's different physiques.

Put a ring on it.

The Homme pieces are available at State Property's Atelier store (on 36 Armenian Street) and a brand-new boutique located at #03-09B Takashimaya Shopping Centre, as well as online. Below, our picks of the collection.
