Love Pretty Bags? Then Check Out This Pop-Up Event At Ion Orchard

For nine days only, Miu Miu is hosting a pop-up event at Ion Orchard to showcase its pretty and glamorous Miu Lady collection.

Pop-ups are the retail equivalent of IG Stories. There one day, and gone the next. Or in this case, a few days or weeks later. So how does a fashion brand keep you glued to such an event? In the case of Italian brand Miu Miu, its latest pop-up project at the atrium of Ion Orchard (Nov 2-Nov 11) starts with the main attraction: an installation featuring the label's uber pretty Miu Lady bag collection.

It has set up two larger-than-life Miu Lady replicas that house a multi-media showcase of the history and workmanship of the bags. First introduced in S/S '15 as a top handle design in brocade and velvet, the line's feminine and glamorous aesthetic (read: these bags are instant crowd pleasers) centres around the oversized crystal and metal buckle which is inspired by ornate Baroque styling and the Wild West.

Flash forward to this season and the Miu Lady's versatility is evident not only in the fact that it spans shoulder bag, tote and bum bag styles. There are also the finishes like supple Madras leather and calfskin as well as exotic skins. But the bags are not just about looks. They come with an artisanal cachet too. Consider this trivia that the male models-slash-guides (watch the video above) shared during the press preview: Craftsmen can only produce not more than four bags a day.

The brand has also created two limited edition bags to mark the event. In Ayers snakeskin and rendered in a classic tote style, these pieces sport gem hues -- in a deep amethyst and a rich citrine -- and are exclusive to the Ion Orchard boutique.
