A Rundown Of All The Best Designer Fashion In The Devil Wears Prada 2 Movie
The long-awaited The Devil Wears Prada 2 has arrived in cinemas and we’re going straight to breaking down the characters’ wardrobe.
By Alby Permana,
In a movie that explicitly revolves around fashion, it’s only natural that the styling plays a crucial role – to paraphrase Meryl Streep, it’s as important as the dinosaurs in a Jurassic Park movie. When the first The Devil Wears Prada was released in 2006, Molly Rogers was an associate costume designer to her longtime mentor, Patricia Field. Twenty years later, similarly to the original characters in the movie, she found herself promoted as head of costume designer for the sequel.
Much has changed inside the walls of Runway magazine, but the fashion game remains as strong as it once was. Knowing the success the first movie had, Rogers knew not to take her job lightly; collaborating with the actresses and actors to build upon each respective character. Say whatever you want about The Devil Wears Prada 2, but from the wardrobe alone, it doesn’t take much convincing to make us want to be just like them (or at least, have a closet like theirs). Below, a rundown of the best designer fashion looks as seen in The Devil Wears Prada 2 movie.

MIRANDA PRIESTLY
Subtlety isn’t something Miranda has time for – and that extends into her wardrobe decisions. Two decades later, she’s just as graceful and extravagant in a red gown that was custom designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli when he had just joined Balenciaga. Because, as Molly Rogers puts it, the devil doesn’t make a return in green.
If one can make a monochromatic business look read as elegant and fashion-forward, it’s none other than Miranda Priestly. The sharply tailored blazer and skirt from Sa Su Phi is exactly the kind of look that commands attention – one that Priestly doesn’t simply wear, but effortlessly brings to life.

It’s hard to predict Miranda Priestly, nonetheless her shoe of choice. The fearsome editor stepped into the elevator in a pair of red Valentino Rockstuds. And judging by current trends, it seems she still has her finger on the pulse after all.
The Milan Fashion Week scenes served some great fashion moments. Perhaps one of the most heartwarming was the embellished long coat from the Giorgio Armani Prive Spring/Summer 2025 couture collection she wore as a tribute to the designer, who passed away during the filming of the sequel.
Statement jackets are undoubtedly a Miranda Priestly signature, and dare we say, this Dries Van Noten tassel jacket takes the crown out of all the jackets she’s donned?
ANDY SACHS
The once awkward Andy Sachs has found some confidence in her stride and a fashion sense that matches it. Rocking a pinstripe matching vest and slacks from Jean Paul Gaultier has become just another day at work for the once cerulean sweater-wearing character.
It also seems that she now can do a makeover perfectly on her own. For her Hamptons minute, Andy managed to score a Gabriela Hearst patchwork dress from Runway’s closet – one she picked out without much help from the beloved longtime art director, Nigel.
Leaning into a playful vibe, Andy pairs this pleated Fendi skirt with a sheer plaid top from Acne Studios, finishing it off with a romantic punk edge by way of Valentino Rockstuds heels in black.
If the movie should tell you anything, it’s that Andy’s got quite an enviable collection of staple jackets. Exhibit A: this Ralph Lauren suede jacket she wore over a blue scarf and light-wash denim, and accessorised with a Valentino fringed sling bag which serves as a killer quintessential New Yorker outfit.
Is she wearing Chanel haute couture? Yes, she is. A victorious dress for a triumphant moment in the movie. After all, it was those Chanel boots that transformed her into the Andy Sachs we all love many years ago.
EMILY CHARLTON
Emily’s first appearance is nothing short of iconic: a bustier top paired with pinstriped trousers from Jean Paul Gaultier, and a Dior button down – a deliberate choice for the woman that now sits on the top of the ladder at the French luxury house.
One thing about her, she’s committed to fashion down to her core. You wouldn’t even catch her slacking at a funeral – stealing the scene in a belted Dior dress layered with a flowing Peter Do maxi skirt for extra flair.
Her version of lowkey? A newspaper print hoodie and khaki green corset from Dior by John Galliano, the latter dates even further back than the first movie’s release. Looking at this, a million girls would definitely kill for her wardrobe.
AMARI MARI
There’s a newcomer to the Runway universe – she’s sharp, quick-witted, and does not need a makeover. Her Thom Browne get up and a stack of Cartier accessories can easily earn her the best dressed employee.
Thankfully, no flu for Amari; she made it to the blue carpet with Miranda. And she arrived dressed for the occasion, wearing an archival Jean Paul Gaultier gown from the designer’s Fall 2011 couture collection and a top-handle bag from Bulgari. Emily may finally have some real competition.
