What: This year’s graduate fashion show by Lasalle College of the Arts’ BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles programme presented 10 thoughtful and diverse collections by the Class of 2025. Working within the theme Rewoven Ties, the students explored the evolving relationship between humans, technology and nature. From 3D-printed pieces inspired by heirloom jewellery to digitally constructed garments made with specialised software, the collections reflected a blend of personal storytelling and forward-thinking design approaches.

As always, we got the insider scoop on what happened backstage as the final year students gave us an up-close look at their creations. From meticulously embroidered beading to playful experimentation with pinstripes, each look was a labour of love and a testament to the skill and dedication of these up-and-coming designers.

Where: Following tradition, the highly-anticipated show was once again held at the school's McNally Campus, where industry insiders gathered to check out the next generation of designers.

When: May 15, 2025.

The vibe: Bold, energetic, and charged with creativity. As we stepped backstage, the graduates were chatting in a circle, relaxed and confident. Dressed to the nines, each designer sported looks that matched their runway ensembles, from outfits incorporating upcycled textiles to kebayas worn in unconventional ways. As the clock ticked, they got to work arranging their pieces on the racks and steaming garments until every fold was crisp and clean. Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed on the runway, as models burst on-stage in classic suits elevated with feathers inspired by Cantonese Opera headpieces, and bold, spiked kimonos paying tribute to Bosozoku culture.

And if you couldn't be there to catch the runway show, you can still check out all the collections from the school's BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles programme at the The Lasalle Show Exhibition 2025, which takes place at the institution's McNally campus from May 23 - June 4, 2025.
