5 Reasons We Love Riccardo Tisci's Givenchy Watch Upgrade

By now, you already know him as fashion's de facto dark prince. But this guy is also one heck of an accessories hero (we're not just talking about those sublime Goth baubles). His newest upgraded Seventeen watch for Givenchy has gone edgier and is now automatic.

1. It's gone automatic for the first time since Tisci designed it for Givenchy in 2013. What drives the $3,650 ticker? The reliable ETA 2892 movement.

2. There's an edgier and slight industrial aspect to the timepiece – thanks to the matte satin-finished titanium case. This also makes it a featherweight contender to its stainless steel predecessors.

3. The look is masculine and sporty but not butch. The luminescent dial and retro-inspired indexes are old school '70's, and a slight nod to Tisci's adolescent years spent playing basketball.

4. It's made for fans of Nato straps, aka those hipsterfied interchangeable military-inspired straps. The Seventeen automatic model comes with a nylon and calfskin strap.
