Strength In Softness: The Chanel J12 Watch Reasserts Its Icon Status In A New 2026 Campaign

Starring Gisele Bundchen and Clement Chabernaud, Chanel’s latest J12 campaign goes back to the timeless ceramic sports watch’s original inspiration: water.

More than a quarter of a century since its debut, and the Chanel J12 watch still very much remains a timeless Y2K icon as the House’s first-ever unisex sports watch. Its original deep black design has since given rise to a white edition, and, more recently in 2025, a J12 Bleu series in an inky coat of blue.

This time, Chanel is back with a new J12 campaign that pays homage to its original inspiration: water. Fronted by Gisele Bündchen and Clément Chabernaud, the latest visuals surrounding the luxury sports timepiece perfectly embody the its “soft but strong” quality – where extreme damage-proof hardiness against choppy terrains is married with a soft ceramic body, which is surprisingly smooth and lightweight despite being seven times more resistant than steel.

It’s a tried-and-true make-up that’s inherently woven into the Chanel J12’s legacy. The manufacturing process involves 100 tests, and a resistance check which puts the watch under the most challenging conditions: from high impact, to simulations of deep sea pressure, and abrasive sand. In fact, the creation of each piece also sees its ceramic material being heated to over 1,300°C before being moulded, cooled, and refined for shape.

The Chanel J12 watch is one of those accessories that’s designed to withstand the test of time – not just in durability, but also in design. Find out more about Chanel J12 and browse its full range in Singapore here.
