Timothee Chalamet holds a unique place at Cartier, not merely as a brand ambassador, but also as a co-designer. For the second time, the 28-year-old actor collaborated with the French luxury brand, dreaming up a stunning piece for the Dune: Part Two premiere in London on February 15.

"The glowing yellows and fiery oranges of the diamonds evoke a relentless desert sun," says Marie-Laure Cerede, Cartier's Creative Director of Jewellery and Watchmaking of the necklace she co-designed with Timothee Chalamet. "Cool blue sapphires pierce the landscape like oases, and deep black onyx hints at the depth of the desert's secrets."

Partnering with Marie-Laure Cerede, Cartier's Creative Director of Jewellery and Watchmaking, Chalamet drew inspiration from the film's desert landscapes. The result: a mesmerising, undulating yellow gold choker-style necklace studded with over 900 colourful stones.

This modular piece allows for rotation, revealing different sides. On one side are diamonds in orange, yellow, brown, and white hues, accented with inverted diamonds for a spiked texture reminiscent of the rugged terrain depicted in the film. On the other side: A vibrant blue palette is achieved with sapphires and spinels, capturing the intensity of the eyes of the movie's Fremen characters.

"I think Marie-Laure and I found a way to evoke the desert and harsh beauty of Dune in the Cartier style; a wonderful opposite to the candy-coloured enchantment of our first collaboration together," Chalamet said in a statement.

This collaboration marks Chalamet's second design partnership with Cartier. Last November, during the Wonka promotional tour, he co-created a multi-coloured white gold necklace inspired by the film's confectionary theme. Both designs will now join the Cartier vault, travelling to leading exhibitions and cultural institutions worldwide.
