While one might not expect that pastries can be made completely vegan, Rya Bakehouse is doing exactly that. Previously a home-based bakery, it has since expanded into a cosy brick-and-mortar store along Cavan Road, specialising in artisanal European-style bread and pastries made from scratch. 

Grab yourself a pain au chocolat, croissant or Rya Bakehouse’s take on an egg sando – a loaded vegan sandwich made with two kinds of tofu and fresh herbs mixed with housemade mayo, sandwiched between two slices of fluffy shokupan toast. While their menu is chock-full of pastries, Rya Bakehouse’s rectangular sliced pizzas are not to be missed. Sourdough loaves and focaccia toasts are also available here.

If you didn’t already know, the world’s first 100% plant-based burger joint is located right here in Singapore – and it’s been a mainstay in the local vegan scene since 2010. And while looks may be deceiving, their signature patties are made from mushrooms, soy and natural ingredients.

Known for its elegant European-style library aesthetic, this vegan restaurant serves up food that’s gluten-free and GMO-free, with artfully plated dishes made from fresh organic ingredients.

Hailing from South Korea, Nuldam Space is a vegan cafe in town that’s famed for its fully plant-based bakes and a unique letter writing concept within its space. They have a rotating menu of around 12 flavours available daily, alongside two to three new creations each month. Standout flavours include earl grey banana bread, lemon speculoos and even a Chinese-inspired flavour that blends chrysanthemum and goji berries.
